From PE to PET - the presentation title at #PETnologyEurope2024 is also the name of the project launched at a kick-off meeting between retailer Coop and dairy producer Emmi Gruppe in Switzerland in early 2023. Since January 2024, various milk and dairy products (private label and branded) have been converted. Coop's ambition is to convert even more milk and dairy products currently packaged in #PE to #PET in the future. Darko Stojanovic, Purchasing Product Manager from Coop, will explain how new #sorting systems for white #PETbottles were installed and how existing systems were adapted. We will also hear about the consumer acceptance tests and the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) that was commissioned at the same time - and get an insight into the progress that has been made. Exciting News!🚩 Hoogwegt and Great Lakes Cheese are pleased to announce that they signed a marketing agreement for WPC80 and Whey Permeate produced at the new Great Lakes Cheese facility in Franklinville, NY. The agreement builds on a previous engagement between our two companies. Manufacturing is scheduled to start in Q1, 2025 with projected production of 10+ million pounds of WPC80 and 40+ million pounds of Whey Permeate. Hoogwegt is excited to start distribution of the additional volume under the 'PowerUp' brand for WPC80 and 'Empire' brand for Whey Permeate.
