Great to be part of the Coal Mining Safety and Health Advisory Committee Recognised Standard 22 industry forum yesterday. The discussions were a great insight into where the industry is at in regard to the implementation of Standard 22. Exciting days ahead for us at Performance Training as we are already delivering the training at several key sites across Queensland.
Commissioner for Resources Safety and Health Kate du Preez thanked the presenters and attendees of the Coal Mining Safety and Health Advisory Committee Recognised standard 22 industry forum held yesterday in Brisbane and Emerald. “One of the most important ways we can improve the safety culture in the industry is by sharing our experiences and learning from each other,” Kate said. “This forum has again shown that the tripartite members of our industry are willing to come together to openly collaborate on shared solutions. “The forum focussed on the sharing of coal mining industry experiences in overcoming challenges and providing practical and risk-based strategies to ensure practicable implementation and compliance of recognised standard 22. “I’d like to thank all of the presenters who shared their knowledge and experience, as well as the attendees who contributed to the conversation, highlighting the benefits and some of challenges that have been faced in the implementation.” The forum was held simultaneously in Brisbane and Emerald with more than 120 people attending across both locations.
