Starting from the ground rules of drafting a successful resume to land your dream job to developing the skills to successfully excel in your corporate interviews, we spent a significant amount of time in sharing our thoughts 💭 and best practices to groom these young leaders of tomorrow. 📌I also stressed on the importance of personal branding and how to differentiate and stand out from the rest to be successful in achieving your personal and corporate goals. ✨ I strongly believe that all corporates carry a social responsibility to nurture these young minds and at Unilever we go above and beyond to demonstrate this in our values and core. 💫 #Unilever #resumewriting #jobmarket #sucess

I came across an article on skilling India’s youth and was pleased to read that “skill development within corporations is already a near-perfect artform.” I can attest to this, for in FY 2022-23, we saw 100% participation amongst our employees in skill upgrade initiatives. To cite an example, Westlife Foodworld Limited (McDonald’s India W&S) had initiated training, the first of its kind, for undergraduate students in the retail sector. Students got oriented on various aspects of retail operations at Pune’s Ness Wadia College, combined with practical exposure at our restaurants. I believe that the retail industry, which is growing at a phenomenal pace, could do with more skilled hands at the entry-level. It’s essential to bridge this gap by creating industry-ready talent. This is one of the many of McDonald’s India skill-development programmes. I am proud to see many of our employees who started as crew members or trainees, rise in the ranks as senior and general managers. I tell you from experience that employees thrive in such a supportive environment and care deeply about their work. Businesses that invest in skills stay ahead of the curve. When you build skills, you organically build the organization. #skilldevelopment #careergrowth #youthempowerment #professionaldevelopment

Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) is a dream company for many. But what exactly happens when you enter the world of Unilever? Here's a glimpse into Prachi Chawla's one-year stint as a Management Trainee or famously known as UFLP programme: Q1. How many stints are there in UFLP and what exactly happens in each one of them? During the MT program at HUL, I experienced five to six stints, each designed to push trainees out of their comfort zones and prepare them for leadership roles. Mandatory Stints: 1. Sales Stint (4 months): • The longest and most crucial stint, designed to build strong fundamentals. Trainees are sent to different locations, often away from their hometowns to get them out of their comfort zone, to understand sales operations, people management, and the cultural diversity of India. 2. Marketing Stint (3 months): • Divided into Brand Building and Brand Development. This stint helps trainees learn about product propositions, consumer insights, and the practical aspects of marketing. 3. Rural Stint (1 month): • A unique experience that immerses trainees in rural markets, emphasizing the importance of understanding the rural consumer base that significantly contributes to HUL's turnover. Non-Mandatory Stints: 1. Centre of Excellence (CoE) Stint: • Focused on tech advancements and process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity within HUL. 2. Customer Marketing Stint: • A bridge between sales and marketing, dealing with go-to-market strategies, promotions, and activations. 3. Future Fit Stint: • Involves working on projects related to sustainability, net revenue management, and other future-oriented initiatives. 4. International Stints: • Though less frequent this year, HUL often provides opportunities to train abroad, further enriching trainees' global perspectives. Q2. What was the biggest learning at HUL during the MT stint? • Understanding People: The sales stint taught me the significance of people management, motivating teams, and respecting diverse perspectives. It's crucial to be empathetic and understand the frontline salesman's problems firsthand, as trainees will eventually lead them as Area Sales Managers (ASM). Knowing their challenges helps in building a motivated and cohesive team. • Project Management: The need to plan and structure tasks effectively, even as a short-term resource. • Quality over Quantity: Focusing deeply on one task at a time to achieve the best results. Q3. What change did the stint personally bring in you? • Zooming Out: I learned to prioritize learning along with managing performance in the short term, which is crucial for long-term growth. • Independence: Being away from family and friends helped me navigate my identity and cherish a newfound sense of independence. Reflecting on this journey, I realized how these stints at HUL have shaped me into a better leader, ready to take on future challenges. #HUL #ManagementTrainee #Leadership #CareerJourney #FMCG #Marketing #Sales #mba

It’s been so long but I want to post it to keep memories as I love my “ex” ^^ I am writing to send my last farewell letter through an exciting story, hope you have time to read it. Kindly sorry in advance if it might bother you ^^ Kim Phat in Unileverland Once upon a time, there was a charming guy, named Kim Phat, who walks into the Unileverland with excitement and curiosity. Therefore, his story begins its rhythm. At the very first day, as well as his peers, he is on the journey finding a career path. Nothing to notice but an ads was showing in front of him and saying “Join us, Join us”. In another moment down went Phat after it, never once considering he actually entered the Ufresh program. This world is whole different by having great talents and well structure. Without experience, he met lots of challenges and be overwhelming like other trainees. Fortunately, he sought and received advice and lessons from line manager, coworkers, trainees and senior brothers & sisters. I, myself, can affirm that Ufresh journey is absolutely a difficult level to pass. But if we ask, the door will open with fruitful result. Saying about our colleague spirit, he remembered about Pinocchio and his friends who are brave to go into the far away ocean in a small ship to meet his father, their goal. We always focus on performance culture and winning spirit which helps us lead the market and achieve our goals. There is nothing that U can’t do, we do the impossible. With that, if we are not the warriors, then who? He and his colleagues, fought for what they believe and bring back great results, for instance, FY2022 sales grows 110% and market share gains 8%; Q1’2023 Homecare grows 140% and market share gains 10% (highest in record) by data driven marketing with millions of data points of partnership and strong customer relationships. After all, the point is, he wants to express his greatest thanks for those supporting him because he can’t make it without every U. Rewind the career path, it teaches him a lot and earns great values. “As sailing ships are designed for open seas, we are designed for the adventure of life”, said Dr. John Lee. He is well packed for the new adventure after working at Unileverland. Every U has purpose and he likes to make Purposeful Love – connecting people to reveal values. From the bottom of Kim Phat’s heart, I would love to warmly thank you thousands of time. Thanks for the lessons every U sharing with me, thanks for the happy times we have been together, thanks for the support you gave me, thanks for the advice from brothers & sisters, thanks for the achievements we gained, thanks for helping me grow and be the best version of myself, thanks for being a part of my journey. I do hope we can remember each other with all best memories and keep in touch. At the end, Kim Phat wakes up and begins his journey with all good memories. Have a good day and be memorable with Phat! ^^

"If I could use three words that encapsulate my journey as an International Business major at the Jindal School of Liberal Arts and Humanities, they would be: transformative, tailored, and triumphant. I have graduated, not just with the knowledge and skill set that was taught to me as an aspiring professional in the field of business, but also with a renewed sense of confidence that their multi-disciplinary, personalized, and diverse approach to education, has imbibed in me. This active intellectual community fosters a vibrant academic atmosphere that extends beyond the classroom, which has taught me how to question every learned belief through critical thinking and effective communication. Each student was encouraged to chart their educational path, be it through the plethora of interesting majors offered, or the multitude of electives that one could pick from, and that is what has made my journey at JSLH an unforgettable one. This allowed me to design a creatively aligned path for myself that has enabled me to work in the dynamic field of PR and entertainment for a notable brand like Netflix India! As I look back at the three years that I spent as a JSLH student, I have fond memories that evoke a sense of gratefulness within me, for having chosen a university that did not perceive us as mere students, but as future change-makers and leaders that carry the potential to make a significant positive difference in the world.” - Ayla Khan Working with MSLGROUP India ( Publicis Groupe), Mumbai, India #JGU #liberalarts #humanities #alumna #testimonial #mondaymotivation #careergoals #careergrowth #careeropportunities #successstory
