Different vaccines work in different ways, but every vaccine helps the body’s immune system learn how to fight germs. It typically takes a few weeks for protection to develop after vaccination, but that protection can last a lifetime. A few vaccines, such as those for tetanus or seasonal flu, require occasional booster doses to maintain the body’s defenses. https://ow.ly/rrFx50RmfRX

In adults 65 years and older, an adjuvanted flu vaccine -- which contains a substance that enhances the vaccine’s effectiveness -- given at the same time as a shingles vaccine had no additional side effects compared to a high-dose flu vaccine given with a shingles vaccine. A Duke Health-led study supports the option of providing the shingles vaccine and adjuvanted flu vaccine to older adults at the same time when both vaccines are needed. People 65 years and older and people with certain chronic diseases are at higher risk of severe flu complications. Everyone 6 months and older can help fight flu by getting vaccinated. 📢 𝗠𝘆𝘁𝗵-𝗕𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 "𝗣𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀" 𝗩𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀! 💉 Many parents believe that a "painless" vaccine means their child won't experience any pain during vaccination. This is a myth! 😲 👉 Not all vaccines are 'painless'. This term primarily refers to the DPT vaccine, given at 6, 10, and 14 weeks of age, plus two booster doses. 🔍 Currently, two forms of the Pertussis vaccine are available: - Whole-cell Pertussis - Acellular Pertussis 💡 Whole-cell Pertussis vaccines can cause fever, pain, and swelling at the injection site for 2-3 days post-vaccination. This variant is available under the national immunisation schedule in government hospitals. ⚖️ Both variants have similar efficacy. Remember, apart from DPT, no other vaccines are considered "painless". #Vaccination #Parenting #ChildHealth #MythBusting #HealthAwareness

During the pandemic, we faced extraordinarily challenging times, yet we emerged into the light at the the end of the tunnel, largely due to #covidvaccines. The virus claimed the lives of millions of people, a devastating outcome we don’t want to repeat. Even today, an alarming number of people continue to be hospitalised and lose their lives to COVID-19, despite the availability of effective preventive measures like vaccines. It is so important that we view vaccination as a tool to avert severe or long term consequences like #longcovid, but also as a vital means to maintain a #healthylifestyle. #vaccinessavelives
🌟COVID-19 Vaccines Saved 1.4 Million Lives in #Europe! 📃 📃 A new study by WHO/Europe has found that #covid19 #vaccines have reduced deaths in the region by at least 57%, saving more than 1.4 million lives. The most significant benefits were seen in older adults, with a 62% reduction in mortality for those over 80. 🙌 📚The study also found that the first vaccine booster alone saved 700,000 lives. This highlights the importance of staying up-to-date on #vaccinations, especially as cases of other respiratory #viruses are on the rise. 🗨 Quote from WHO Regional Director for Europe, Dr Hans Henri P. Kluge: "Today, there are more than 1.4 million people – most of them elderly – enjoying life with their loved ones because they took the vital decision to be vaccinated against COVID-19. That’s nearly 1.5 million people who can play with their grandchildren, walk the dog, attend dance classes, volunteer and be active members of their communities. This is the power of vaccines." 🌐🔗 Read more: https://lnkd.in/dWAtPqCc #COVID19Vaccines #VaccineSuccess #PublicHealth #PandemicResponse #CommunityHealth #StaySafe #GlobalHealth #MedicalResearch #AIB #adultimmunizationboard
