Ammonia vs LNG & ammonia ready Think twice: why build #LNG and ammonia-ready terminals instead of just ammonia? Wouldn’t it be much cheaper to design and build a terminal for a fluid that operates at -33°C instead of considering the -163°C of LNG? The answer lies in the market: there isn’t yet a market for buying and selling #ammonia, but there is for LNG!… Politics, authorities, net zero target and the industry don’t seem to have a common goal… always the market (the money) is in the middle of the final investment decission.

Did you know? Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is the lowest carbon conventional fuel source available to homes and businesses off the natural gas grid today. LPG is a hydrocarbon gas that exists in a liquefied form. It is supplied in two main forms, butane (C₄H₁₀) or propane (C3H8) and comes in a tank or cylinder. This flexibility and portability allows LPG to reach places that other energies cannot. Its combustion emits 33% less carbon-dioxide than coal and 11% less than heating oil. LPG also emits almost no black carbon, which scientists now believe is the second biggest contributor to climate change globally. #LPG #JustTransition

For all the clamour surrounding methanol as shipping’s future fuel, there remains very limited sites worldwide with available bunkering for the in vogue fuel. New research issued this week from Clarksons Research shows there are just 10 sites worldwide offering methanol bunkering, with another 11 under development. 📍#DidYouKnowThat📍 ✅ What are the process steps 📊 that the Natural Gas #NG passes through 🏭 from the underground well to the LNG ship's tanks as liquid ❓❓ ✅ The #Raw feed gas 🔵 from the underground well 🌎 is sent to the liquefaction plant 💧 : 1️⃣ #Condensate removal 📉 - It is first stripped of condensates. 2️⃣ #Acid gas and #Mercury removal 📉 - It is then followed by the removal of acides gases 👉 Carbon dioxide CO² and Hydrogen sulphide H²S. Carbon dioxide must be removed 📉 as it freezes ❄ at a temperature above the atmospheric boiling point of #LNG 👉-60°C and the toxic compound hydrogen sulphide is removed as it causes 👉 atmospheric pollution when being burnt 🔥 is a fuel. 3️⃣ #Dehydration 💭 - #Acid gas removal saturates the gas stream with water vapour 💭 and this is then removed by the dehydration unit. 4️⃣ #Fractionation ⚡ - The gas then passes to a fractionating unit where the 👉 NGLs are removed and further split into #Propane and #Butane. 5️⃣ #Liquefaction 💧 - Finally, the main gas flow, now mostly #Methane, is liquefied 💧 into the end product Liquefied Natural Gas #LNG and stored in tanks 🏢 ready to be loaded into LNG ships. 📷 : McGuire & White #lng #lngindustry #lngshipping #lngbunkering #gtt #mossdesign #naturalgas #shipping

Please take note of the following items during the project selection stage: - Engine type - Main Engine Load profile for anticipated trade - Electrical load chart (How you plan to use the 4-stroke sets) - Primary source of fuel gas for your customers (LNG or BOG extraction) - Availability of space for emission abatement solutions, in case it is not already installed on your engines you plan to retrofit later.
