CEO, Agilian. We help Medicaid organizations better understand beneficiaries, support their health, and improve retention with solutions that pay for themselves, and then some.
The True Cost of MCO Financial Leaks In our August webinar Diane Gerrits, MBA-HCM , Barry Jenkins and me sat down to share where they’re seeing money leakages at Medicaid MCOs and ways to intervene. While the financial impact of these leaks is substantial—potentially costing MCOs millions each year—the true cost goes beyond the bottom line. Every wrongful disenrollment or data error represents a real person who might lose access to essential health services. It’s not just about dollars and cents; it’s about ensuring that vulnerable populations receive the care they need without interruption. The human impact is profound, affecting individuals' health outcomes and overall well-being. Webinar link is in the comments.

Healthcare Transformation Leader | Advance Analytics and Business Intelligence | Payer-Provider-Life Sciences | Dad :-)
Really glad I attended yesterday's Duke-Margolis - West Health event at the National Press Club in Washington, DC in person. As an advocate and operator in the accountable care space, it was encouraging to see how many of the challenges and solutions I've been addressing with federal and commercial clients being echoed by health policy leaders and value-based care (VBC) proponents. The discussions featured a range of perspectives, including insights from political leaders, VBC innovators (CMMI, NAACOS), quality stewards (NQF, NCQA), translational research, and ACO providers (truly impactful stories!). I left feeling optimistic that, despite the evolving political landscape, the commitment to value-based care will endure through continued innovation. Some key takeaways: - The Physician Fee Schedule is increasingly unsustainable. Adjustments, particularly during the upcoming lame-duck session, will be critical to laying the foundation for future value models. - Benchmarks need to evolve beyond Total Cost of Care (TCoC), with a focus on creating sustainable value models that enable participation beyond the third year and furthering the goals of the quintuple aim. - Expanding value model participation will require identifying specialty provider groups and tiering referral networks by quality to enhance value-based care. I look forward to continuing to support these efforts and driving meaningful change in the value space.
Only a few days left to register! This Wednesday, October 2, Duke-Margolis and West Health will host a hybrid event to discuss how to accelerate accountable care adoption and improve value-based payment. For federal perspectives, we are thrilled to welcome The Honorable Michael Burgess, U.S. Representative for the 26th District of Texas, and Liz Fowler, Director of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation, as key speakers for this event. Visit the event webpage to read the agenda and register. Space is limited! https://duke.is/y/se7j
