Every PCB designer must address three core challenges: board solvability, manufacturability, and performance. This direct dock probe card, designed by Tessolve, is an exceptional example of how to achieve balance between these competing priorities. It is a 32-layer board designed to dock with UltraFLEX automatic test equipment from Teradyne. The team had to thoughtfully solve for component placement to navigate around slots and mounting holes, while also keeping signal integrity and power integrity in mind. They achieved success by creating a good power distribution network with over 212 voltage rails, and utilized shielding, spacing, and an exceptional return path network to maintain signal quality. They also leveraged heavy design reuse with minor rotation to allow for duplicated circuits to be appropriately placed within the correct areas. #PCBDesign #ElectricalEngineering #PrintedElectronics
