Packaging Corporation of America’s Post

Scott Cordes has dedicated 35 incredible years to PCA, shaping a career filled with growth, challenges, and memorable moments. His journey began in Toledo, Ohio, as a Structural Design Trainee with Nekoosa Packaging, followed by roles in Los Angeles as a Structural Designer and in Skokie, Illinois, as a Design Coordinator. In 2006, Scott made a major shift to the Marketing department, where he launched new branding initiatives that helped unify PCA’s identity. Scott’s career has taught him the importance of building relationships and embracing new challenges. His advice for newcomers is to stay open to growth and new opportunities. "Just because you start with expertise in one area doesn’t mean you can’t grow or end up in another," he shares. Beyond work, Scott finds fulfillment in mentoring young adults through his church, a passion he has pursued for 12 years. This role enriches his life, allowing him to share his experiences and wisdom while making a meaningful impact. He considers these young mentees his extended family, providing guidance and support as they navigate their own paths. Scott’s dedication to mentorship is an extension of his professional philosophy—building connections and nurturing relationships. Among all the places Scott has experiences in his career, Illinois holds a special place in his heart as it is where he met his wife. He credits PCA’s supportive culture for allowing them to spend quality time together, from traveling to Grand Cayman to enjoying delicious food and wine at their favorite spots. Please join us in congratulating Scott Cordes on his remarkable 35-year journey with PCA! People like scott are the real assert of any company and we should treat them as valuable as they are ! It seems PCA recognises such asserts and values them. It's really nice to see such treatments and these should be the real face of the corporate world
