Who wants a stat? Here's one that might surprise you. 70% of the agency Paid Social market in London has moved companies in the last 3 years. That's a lot isn't it? There's still a lot of growth in paid social + the data suggests a buoyant jobs market, despite the more recent relative downturn in hiring + propensity for larger agencies to offshore activation resource. To me, it is also indicative of a transactional market, where paid social specialists follow the money + the opportunity, rather than putting down roots (although the data only shows those who are paid social specialists + excludes those who may have moved into a broader role in their current company). 50% of the London agency Paid Social market has less than 5 years' experience. Here's a look at experience by level in the market by typical agency title convention. Also shown on the chart is the median experience at time of hiring by level over the last 12 months. Notable here is that the figures for Senior Exec and Manager are below the median quartiles currently. This likely reflects a shortfall of talent at these levels in the specialism (again thanks to hiring downturn and offshoring). Should the trend continue, median experience at each of these levels will continue to reduce as the levels compress further. The market is becoming more junior.
