On this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we take time to honour the children who never returned home, the survivors of residential schools, and their families. This day challenges us to confront the painful truths of our shared history and renew our commitment to reconciliation with Indigenous peoples.
As leaders, professionals, and citizens, we are called to take meaningful action. Isaiah 1:17 says, “Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed.” This scripture reminds us that reconciliation is not just a symbolic gesture but an ongoing process of learning, listening, and advocating for justice and equity in our communities and workplaces.
Let’s use this day as an opportunity to educate ourselves, reflect on our role in reconciliation, and support Indigenous voices. Together, we can create a more inclusive and respectful future.
