Less than 4 weeks before the challenge: Lifting 10 ton in 10 days for the Beatson Cancer Charity Many describe cancer journey as “heavy lifting”. As oncologists, we and our teams aim to take away some of that weight and make cancer journey better for patients and families. So this act symbolises exactly what we all do in cancer care; including what the third sector does. If this speaks to your heart, please support with a donation and/or spreading the word. No matter how small or big, everything counts! 🙏🙏 Sharing link below and QR code in the picture. 👇 https://lnkd.in/eCaGxHNZ #cancer #cancersupport #scotland #wellbeing #weightlifting #physicalactivity #challenge #TrPLE10challenge

Nice! Will AI driven drug discoveries create a test animal shortage? Imagine if Ken Griffin created a new “project warp speed” for animal testing, because with all the new AI drug discovery right around the corner - it seems likely that there will be a GPU-like test animals shortage that delays progress.. And what if animal testing can be a win-win for the test animals and their human counterparts.. and also fun. Example: Why not breed and clone polar bear sized sled dogs - who will surely have a ton of health problems to solve - but in the meantime they have a great life as they are autonomously trained to sniff out rare earth metals in the arctic (for fun) while also contributing economically. Also, wouldn’t it be best if a cerebral super drug is tested on super intelligent NYC and Chicago rats? Ken’s Kennel (for lack of a better name) can capture and breed rats from the city. Perhaps the rats can even be autonomously trained to do something economical too… Imagine - free range test animals that contribute economically! Just a germ of an idea. Obviously people in Ken's crew would come up with the real insight. My point is that maybe breeding test animals can be fun.. and kind.. and insanely contributive to mankind!
This morning, Ken Griffin joined Dr. Selwyn Vickers, Robin Roberts, and Lara Spencer on Good Morning America to announce the largest donation in Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s nearly 150-year history. The landmark $400 million gift from Ken Griffin, Founder of Griffin Catalyst, and David Geffen, Founder of the David Geffen Foundation, will advance cancer care, treatment, and outcomes for people in New York City and around the world, helping MSK’s incredible physicians, scientists, and care providers create more hope and possibility for every person with cancer. There are so many side effects our pediatric cancer warriors experience from standard cancer treatments. Families need to be aware of these 18 common side effects, but it's also crucial to spread awareness of them to show how important it is to fund research for safer treatment options. With only 4% of all government funding for cancer research going towards pediatric cancer, we need your help to fund research for novel and safer treatment options for our littlest cancer warriors. #HelpFundTheCure by donating today🧡 https://lnkd.in/g53Eiax
