#Hospitalitysector shows ‘cautious confidence’ as rate of closures slows. Hospitality sector closures in Britain have slowed this year thanks to a “modest revival” in independent restaurants and dining out, a new report has revealed. There were an average of four closures a day in the first quarter of 2024, according to the latest Hospitality Market Monitor by CGA by NIQ and AlixPartners, which is down from an average of eight a day in 2023. Despite the market being down by 2.5 per cent year-on-year, with one in 40 venues shutting in the past 12 months, the report signals a slow yet positive return to “cautious confidence” for the hospitality industry as cost of living pressures begin to ease. Karl Chessell, director at CGA by NIQ said: “After a very challenging few years, these numbers give grounds for tentative optimism that hospitality closures will slow as 2024 goes on.

You know, I've spent quite a bit of time in airport lounges, and the variety of food options can make or break your experience. So, here's some exciting news: Changi Airport Terminal 2 (T2) is finally back in action after a major expansion, and it's not just about duty-free shops and boarding gates. This time, it's all about unlocking round-the-clock dining. As someone who's been there, I know the struggle of landing late or catching an early morning flight. Hunger strikes, and you're left with limited options. But the newly reopened T2 has got it sorted for you. If you're heading to the transit area, you're in for a real treat. Think Korean delights at Buk Chang Dong Soon Tofu, more dim sum at Chef Wei HK Cheong Fun, and an extra Crave outlet because, well, you can never have too much Crave, right? And yes, Dunkin' Donuts is in the house too, as well as so much more... Check out the article below to see even more of these places and read further on the developments. This is a game-changer for travelers. Changi T2 is now your ultimate food destination, no matter when your flight is. I couldn't understand why the frisbee kept getting bigger and bigger. Then it hit me. | Supporting decisions | Enabling success | Information nerd | Strategy | Account management | Leadership | Ghostbuster
A little improvement goes a long way. Sitting in Terminal 2 at Heathrow yesterday made me think of that truism as I got my pizza at The Perfectionists Café. 🍕 When I first started flying to London, before T2 opened in 2014, the flights to Oslo left from Terminal 3. And it was dire. Overcrowded, low ceilings, not great shopping. And then T2 opened. And it was a revelation. A terminal designed as if someone had, at every step of the way, asked: "How can we make this a better experience for travellers?" So simple. Take the best features from other terminals and incorporate them into the design. ➡ Clear, easy to find check-in desks. ➡ Openings to walk "through" the check-in desks to security. Which is on the same level as the desks and clearly visible. ➡ A great view as you come through security to a high balcony that instantly gives you the overview of the entire terminal in one glance and the runway beyond. ➡ Good shopping easily visible ➡ Freedom to move. Multiple ways to find your gate. ➡ Great food options. When The Perfectionists café opened it had the first wood-fired pizza oven in an airport. And it's been copied all over the world now. Because high quality food makes for happy travellers. All these small improvements make a big difference. So when you're speaking to customers, clients, or actually anyone, think of how you can make their day better. Why would you not? #fridaymotivation #improvement #sales
