Are Carpenters in demand for 2024? While this isn’t the best place to find skilled carpenters but here is my two cents. Carpenters are indeed in demand, though the outlook varies depending on the specific area of carpentry. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a modest growth in employment for carpenters, with an expected increase of 1% from 2022 to 2032. Despite this limited growth, there's a significant annual demand for carpenters, primarily due to the need to replace workers who leave the occupation. Approximately 79,500 openings for carpenters are projected each year over the decade, which is a substantial number. The demand for carpenters is also underscored by the findings of the National Association of Home Builders. They highlight the critical role of carpenters in the construction industry, particularly in residential construction where wood is a primary material. The U.S. has seen a steady increase in the number of carpenters, with an average 1.3% annual growth between 2017 and 2022. This demand is often driven by the construction and home renovation sectors, and shortages in the carpentry workforce have been a concern, indicating a robust demand for skilled carpenters

Subcontractors in the UK Housing Market - what software are you using for your measures & why? Bricklayers, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, decorators, tilers - everyone - is there a product that you've come across that works particularly well with the drawings that housebuilders issue now? Does it handle the seemingly endless housetypes and then the variations of those housetypes? How does it cope with revisions? Changes to specifications, materials, etc.? Changes to plot types or number of units on a site? Tendering isn't a five minute job so what do you use to make your life as easy as possible????? Any feedback will be much appreciated!

𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗴𝗲: 𝗔 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁! I can’t help but notice a fascinating trend in Belgrade: traditional craftsmen are quietly reclaiming their place in the spotlight. In an era that seems dominated by digital wizards, these skilled people are defying the odds and raising the bar for their income. Have you recently wanted to repair or remodel something in your house and called a handyman? You must have noticed that the price of the service is not the least bit cheap, and that you have to wait several weeks for those handymen who possess quality. I give it a thought why plumbers, electricians, carpenters, masons, leatherworkers and other craftsmen are now enjoying better financial prospects even than some engineers or doctors. 𝟭. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲: As fewer young folks choose the path of craftsmanship; we’re witnessing a shortage. Plumbers, electricians, and carpenters are becoming the unicorns of the market in big cities, which translates into higher service prices. 𝟮. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸: Craftsmanship is making a comeback, and it’s not just about nostalgia. People are looking for authenticity, quality, and the human touch. 𝟯. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Some craftsmen now out-earn teachers, engineers, or doctors. While the latter professions require years of education and maybe even student loans, skilled craftsmen are thriving without the burden of a formal degree. Their expertise is in demand, and they’re capitalizing on it. Like it or not we are all witnesses that this happens in big cities: - 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗽𝗮𝘆𝘀: Whether it’s a master carpenter or a seasoned electrician, their hourly rates are climbing. - 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘆: Consumers appreciate the value of a well-made product or service. The best craftsmen can deliver excellence. - 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝘀: Interestingly, digital platforms are helping craftsmen reach wider audiences. Social media showcases their work, and online marketplaces connect them with clients globally. For all of us whose children are growing up and approaching the moment when they need to make a decision about what to do professionally in life - a big question is what to recommend to them and whether being a craftsman is a good decision for a professional calling (for the future).
