The new GA4 reporting caused a lot of confusion for last click attribution. Here's what the Traffic Acquisition report does for DDA Properties 👇 In Universal Analytics (UA), it was used for last click channel attribution. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗚𝗔𝟰'𝘀 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮-𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗱. It now measures which channel initiated the session that led to a conversion. This does not mean that your affiliate conversions did not finalise a sale. It only means that they initiated the final session less than you thought. Here are my top 3 takeaways after attending my first #affiliatesummit last week. #1 The partnership economy is thriving. Noted by the size and scale of this event and the volume of attendees, this marketing channel is here to stay and only going to continue growing. #2 The need for transparency within the ecosystem is ripe for change. Many brands are burdened with either lack of available data or the resources to leverage it. #3 Same challenges, new year. The things that bog down affiliate marketers from scaling their channel in the past, are still prevalent today. Namely how to discover new relevant partners and how to keep track of the rapidly changing dynamics once placements are up and running.
