Things change, and often for the good! Until now, the partnership marketing industry has lacked a unified standard for assessing which affiliate partners, content creators, and publishers deliver true incremental growth. Here’s what that means for your brand (and your revenue potential). https://lnkd.in/gh3RJKXw #affiliatemarketing #affiliatemanagement #incrementality

Father | Affiliate Marketing Consultant | Founder @ NYMO & Co. | Podcaster | Content Focused Affiliate Program Management
Should I pay all my affiliates the same percentage? I will always say NO as every publisher has a different value. And uniform commission rates can hinder an affiliate program's performance by not incentivizing top-performing affiliates or content creators effectively. Tailoring rates to reward higher-value partners can drive better results and encourage diverse promotional strategies. Content creators who are top of funnel will likely see less conversion than bottom of the funnel partners. You want to compensate these publishers well so they keep creating content. Even though there isn’t as much conversion as a bottom of funnel partner. Also the revenue may not look like much, but the content site generated that customer and then another publisher helped close the sale, getting the last click credit. If you pay on first click versus last click then your approach will also differ. When deciding what to pay publishers make sure to take in to consideration their value to the customer’s journey and not just last click revenue. Do you like to pay publishers different commission rates or do you prefer to offer a uniform rate instead? How do uniform commission rates affect the performance of an affiliate program? #affiliate #commissions #publisher

Great advice from Marshall Nyman on how to best distribute affiliate commissions based on the partner. In order for affiliate to function effectively throughout the funnel, commissions should be adjusted based on the partner type. We've found that typically creators not only prefer but demand a flat fee or hybrid compensation model; whereas coupon sites will of course work better on a strictly performance basis. But this might not be the fixed rule for everyone, of course. How do you pay your affiliates? Do you use a uniform rate?

What a kickoff here at pier 60 for #iPX2024! We toss the word "partnership" around frequently in affiliate, but I think the value of brand/publisher collaboration is especially important as we tackle some shared challenges - namely, incrementality. Simply put, brands have a responsibility to use their marketing dollars in a way that will grow their business. This is easier in some channels than it may be in ours, and brands rely on publishers feedback to ensure their budget is doing all it can to achieve their goals. While there is no magic bullet to prove this out (given every program is different), the answer is to test, test, and test. Brands need to be flexible with their budget to allow for new publisher models to run at incremental sales, and publishers need to continue to ideate on how they can leverage their audience to intersect with brands. There is so much more to discuss, but I think there is enough in this one topic alone to keep us all busy for awhile. I'd love to hear how you approach incremental tracking. Let's dig in more in day 2!
