The fountains at Methodist Hospital flowed purple in May as the Park Nicollet Foundation honored women and kicked off our Women's Health + Be Pink Initiative. The initiative raises funds year-round to provide exceptional, comprehensive care for women's health. The team from Park Nicollet Women's Center gathered at the fountain to celebrate both the kickoff and the center’s 10th anniversary. The community was also invited to honor the women in their lives. Check out our "Women of Honor" wall to see the incredible women who were recognized: https://shorturl.at/NgCtW

Observed annually in March since 1987, Women's History Month is dedicated to reflecting on the often overlooked contributions of women to United States history, culture, and society. One of the most significant ways your team can observe Women's History Month is to take a stance. Raise awareness for the contributions of women in the workplace and recognize the disparity that exists as women rise to break glass ceilings. A few ways your team can celebrate Women's History include: Learn about women who have made an impact in medicine, science, art, music, and more who were pioneers, paving a path for women to follow in careers they previously never dreamed possible. Explore the history of women's rights and discuss ways your team can make a group and individual effort to advocate for women in and out of the workplace. Support a non-profit that works to break down barriers for women, volunteer or donate to a charity that supports women, and support businesses owned and operated by women.

Are you, or do you know a woman working in a family business who deserves recognition? To participate is easy – simply complete and submit the form using the link below and we will do the rest The final report plus associated feature pieces and PR will form a campaign that will be launched in the spring and really showcase the role of women in family firms across the UK today. https://lnkd.in/eZ7AnFaV

🌟 Celebrating Women's History Month! 🌟 Did you know that women are the powerhouse behind the scenes in the nonprofit sector? As we honor the remarkable achievements of women throughout history, let's take a moment to shine a spotlight on the incredible contributions of women in nonprofits. 👩💼 Women form a staggering 75 percent of the nonprofit workforce, pouring their passion and dedication into making positive change in our communities. 🙋♀️ Furthermore, 58% of nonprofit volunteers in the US are women, showcasing their unwavering commitment to serving others and driving social impact. 💸 Women also play a significant role in sustaining these vital organizations, with women giving 64 percent of all donations in 2023. 📊 While women dominate the workforce and volunteer base in nonprofits, their representation in leadership roles doesn't mirror this reality. 🔍 Women make up 56 percent of chief executives at nonprofits with annual budgets of less than $1 million, yet only 22 percent hold the CEO position in organizations with budgets exceeding $50 million. 🗣️ This disconnect begs the question: Why aren't women, who form the majority of the nonprofit workforce, proportionally represented in leadership positions? 🌱 This Women's History Month, let's open up a dialogue about breaking down barriers and fostering inclusive environments where all women have the opportunity to lead and thrive. Join the conversation and share your thoughts below! 💬⬇️ #womenshistorymonth #nonprofit #womeninhistory #womenleaders #nonprofitleadership

Award-winning author, speaker and advocate who delivers impactful and inspirational keynotes and programming to amplify the voices of women in all their diversity to make Canada more equitable and democratic
This is my granddaughter Charlotte. At 7, she’s fearless. In part, that’s because she hasn’t yet encountered the barriers you and I have dealt with our entire lives. Informed Opinions amplifies the insights of #women and gender-diverse people because when they’re integrated into decisions at every level, we get better outcomes. Research proves that. The voices we help make louder and more effective have exposed problems and offered solutions to everything from child care and the financial system to birth control and climate action. We’re seeking to create a reality in which my Charlotte – and your Zoe, Fatemeh or Grace – are... ...celebrated for their intelligence and abilities… ...paid what they’re worth… ...and protected from harassment and assault... wherever they work. Investing in organizations dedicated to advancing women and girls is the most effective way to create gender equity. Yet less than 2% of all philanthropic support goes to organizations like ours. October 11th is #DayOfTheGirl -- reframed, in light of the above, as "Give to Women and Girls Day". Charlotte and Zoe, Fatemah and Grace are counting on us to be fearless – just like them – in our pursuit of the change we all deserve. Do you want the world to be a more welcoming place for your daughters and granddaughters than it has been for you or your mother and grandmother? If so, and if you have capacity to contribute to making systemic change, we can make strategic and practical use of your support. Together, we can make a better future for women and girls. Many nonprofits exist to improve the lives of women, children and other disadvantaged groups. For me, this is exactly why it's so important to have women at the table where decisions are being made. Similarly, having a board that includes at least some representation of the people the organization serves can be really powerful. At Athena, I work with nonprofits of varying sizes - rather than entering into a binary gender debate, I believe we need to focus on fostering collaboration and inclusivity to drive meaningful change. So how do we empower more women to ascend the career ladder to executive roles in larger nonprofits, while encouraging men to address the issues affecting their direct communities?

Vivienne Hayes MBE, Chief Executive of the national charity, Women's Resource Centre has this to say about #InLoveandAnger, the report of the #TinasHaven pilot project published tomorrow. 💖🌸🧚♀️ “I am honoured to have been invited to write this foreword. The work of all the women involved in this truly groundbreaking pilot led by the vision, human love and commitment of Dr Sue Robson is a revelation. Tina’s Haven is a celebration of what can - and indeed must - be achieved for and with women who, as a result of extensive male violence and what I must name as state violence, are vilified and punished in the cruelest of ways, by the enforced removal of their children. In a time when too much provision for women has become industrialised and driven by state- determined frameworks often unfit for purpose, this pilot project provides hope and a re-positioning of how to actually meet the needs of the women involved. The interweaving of a critical theoretical approach for social transformation based upon the Black Feminist work of Professor Patricia Hill Collins, and a clear and deliberate feminist practice delivers the change we desperately need to see in how women are supported and empowered. This is how our wider women’s sector should be operating. The success of Tina’s Haven is a result of it being located in a clear analysis of structural inequality and the simultaneous actions necessary to begin to address this, which requires a women-only multi layered, holistic design. I hope this wonderful, joyous, and liberating model of work will give food for thought to all those who wish to see women’s rights achieved. Tina’s Haven should be used as a blueprint by service providers; because, in the words of Audre Lorde: “The master’s tools will never dismantle the master’s house.””
