At Maison Francis Kurkdjian, we are convinced that creative brands have a role to play, by making eco-responsible and innovative choices beautiful, to embark their clients and collaborators in this necessary transition. Earlier this week, we were delighted to host the IMAGINE 2050 conference at Comet Bourse in Paris, co-led by Emma Stokking and Côme Girschig. It highlighted the power of narratives, to make a sustainable development model desirable: how can we create new inspiring models in the framework of Kate Raworth's Donut Theory, combining planetary boundaries with social ones? We had a unique moment for reflection and action, to imagine together political, economic and artistic solutions, to move towards a sustainable and desirable society. #MaisonFrancisKurkdjian #Imagine2050 #CSR

GTF 2024: Accelerating Change from Berlin 🚀 Step into the future with our #AI-generated vision of #Berlin, where innovation grows amidst green landscapes. As a city that has constantly reinvented itself, Berlin has become a hotbeds for creativity and innovation, always responding to the shifting winds of change.Being the home of GREENTECH FESTIVAL, Berlin has become a symbol of the imperative of change. The old world of ‘profit at any cost’ is being eroded by a new wave of tech-savvy, sustainable companies that are turning entire markets on their heads creating new winners and losers. Meanwhile, the climate crisis is taking effect faster than human or natural systems can adapt, with growing natural disasters, material shortages, energy crises, and even spiralling conflicts being evidence that negative change is hot on our heels. Yet in the face of such change we always have a choice: we can sit and wait and let change write us out of history, or we can drive change forward setting the agenda for a future we can all believe in. 💚 At the GREENTECH FESTIVAL, we embrace change. POSITIVE change! Do you? Join us from 15-17 May and lets accelerate change from Berlin! #greentechfestival #gtf2024 #acceleratechange #newberlin #ai #future #greenfuture

🎉 It’s a wrap! A week of inspiration and innovation at A Sustainable Tomorrow and TechBBQ 2024 🌍 What an incredible few days it’s been, starting with A Sustainable Tomorrow in Helsingborg, where we dove deep into the theme of #Dissonance - exploring the gap between knowledge and action in sustainability. We heard from brilliant speakers like Kata Nylén on how we can transform dissonance into resonance to drive real change, and youth ambassador Andreas Magnusson, who emphasized the importance of intergenerational dialogue for climate action. The future of #sustainability looks bright, with so many innovative ideas and collaborations in the pipeline. Helsingborg Innovation District and HETCH, participated in TechBBQ, deep-diving into tech, innovation and the entrepreneurship! From inspiring keynotes to networking with some of the brightest minds in the startup ecosystem, the focus on technology as a key driver of sustainable development was clear. The energy and forward-thinking solutions presented at TechBBQ are sure to leave a lasting impact on the future of tech and sustainability. These events have highlighted one clear message: innovation and sustainability must go hand in hand as we tackle the challenges of tomorrow. 💡 Looking forward to continue building on the insights and connections made! If we missed each other, feel free to reach out to us! '🟣“The choices we make today create the future that we are dreaming of”🔵 🌍It is clear that every decision we make, no matter how small, sets the foundation for our future. Whether it's choosing to learn a new skill, stepping out of our comfort zone, or deciding to prioritize sustainability in our actions, each choice is a stepping stone toward the future. 🟣As talking about making the future, I am wondering if you have heard about WMF - We Make Future event. Here it is in numbers (last year edition): 🔹89 countries represented 🔹100 stages 🔹1000 speakers 🔹60.000 attendees 🔵As the organizers indicate on the web page - WE MAKE FUTURE is the #Planet’sLargestInnovationEvent. 🟣It fosters the future through culture, education, and innovation. Key topics to be covered in the Festival offer businesses a valuable opportunity to gain visibility and attract suitable investors for their creative ideas and initiatives. 🚀This year, WMF will start on 13th June at the venue of BolognaFiere. 🔵Industry experts in AI & Digital Tech, researchers, creators, institutional representatives, activists, journalists, Open Innovation stakeholders, and many others who are acting as true change makers will share from the stages the future development trends of global society through the conscious, sustainable, and inclusive use of technological and digital innovation tools. I will have a great pleasure to talk about the sustainability.🌍 🔵“There must be a better way to make the things we want, a way that does not spoil the sky, rain or the land” as Paul McCartney said. 🟣What are your choices to create the future that you are dreaming of❓

Introducing Baltan’s 2024 Year Programme: Technologies Otherwise Does technology belong to us? It can feel like an autonomous force, an inevitable process we cannot stop or control. A feeling deriving from being excluded by its intentional opacity, a black box that understands us, without us understanding it. Is it magic, or is it capital? In 2024, Baltan Laboratories will practise a hopeful approach towards technology, exploring how it can help us live otherwise. If we want to believe that technology can fix it all, let us give it another try. However, we need more than one technology because the one we have is virtually singular. Our digital realm is occupied by a monopoly of a few multinationals hoarding an ever-growing pile of creativity, talent, capital and time that could be used to revolutionise it. How can we imagine a diverse and plural technological landscape resistant to the lure of capital? ➡️ At this link, the curatorial text and info about the formats included in the programme: https://lnkd.in/dk32gwXg In the next few days, Baltan social media will be populated with 6 totemic symbols (the ones in the video below), introducing the trajectories and the different formats of the programme. Technologies Otherwise is supported by Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie and Cultuur Eindhoven.

Today I am hosting a panel on "Explore Your Crea(tive)Tech - Sustainability Tool Workshop" as part of the Creative -Tech Scotland Gathering hosted by Edinburgh Futures Institute. We will be exploring the intersection of creativity, technology and sustainability. We all know that technologies such as generative AI, VR and blockchain are changing the Creative Industries at pace. But do we understand the social, environmental and economic implications? Do you think you are at Zero or Advanced level of sustainability maturity? In this workshop, Dr Trevor Davis will present research from the Centre for Sustainable Design (CfSD) at the University for the Creative Arts that answers these questions, and experience a tool that can help the Creative Industries benchmark themselves and so improve their sustainability maturity. A presentation and case study exercise based on four years of study into the intersection of creativity and technology, and the emerging sustainability implications. Also, hands-on use of a web-based tool for benchmarking sustainability maturity for Crea(tive)ech businesses. Participants will learn about the digital transformation of the Creative Industries and how the “world behind the screen” brings hidden environmental and social impact of technologies such as generative AI. In addition, you’ll learn about how to benchmark sustainability maturity using a free tool from Centre for Sustainable Design (CfSD) at the University for the Creative Arts. I look forward to this practical session and discussing the emerging sustainability implications at the intersection of creativity and technology with Dr Trevor Davis and the workshop participants. 🌿 Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the European Outdoor Summit in the stunning backdrop of Cambridge at the University of Cambridge. The setting was inspiring: historic architecture paired with dynamic discussions. From insightful presentations on sustainability in outdoor fashion, team-building, navigating through change and the ever-evolving role of AI, it was clear that 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲. 🌟 Special mention goes to the inspiring talks by professors from the 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐉𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥, which stood out with their forward-thinking perspectives. On a personal note, while there’s been some progress in key areas like AI adoption, I can’t help but reflect on the slower pace of change in others—especially sustainability and collaboration within the industry, which I’ve been closely following for over 15 years. 📢 𝑩𝒖𝒕 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒊𝒔 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔, and the conversation keeps evolving. Feeling optimistic as we all push forward together. 💡 #OutdoorIndustry #EuropeanOutdoorSummit #EOS2024 #Sustainability #AI #Leadership #TeamBuilding #Innovation #Cambridge

Cross-pollination? When I first heard those words I thought it sounded fadish. Vom-inducing ridiculous. But I was not only wrong, worse, I was naïve. Over the last few years, I've had my head firmly ensconced in the art world talking to shippers, insurers, auction houses, registrars, dealers, green teams, conservators, galleries, museums, climate scientists, technicians, operations etc focused on what they need and want to bring about change. I do this because bringing a truly circular & sustainable solution for fine art shipping to market necessitates us coming together and having challenging conversations (which result in the most rewarding outcomes). The art market is famed for being opaque, fiefdom-esque, fractured, and competitive. But in truth, it's extraordinary how far people go out of their way to work together. Two months ago I had the absolute PLEASURE to pop my ugly mug above the parapet and talk to people outside fine art, and into the broader arts and tech space. Since my panel at Christie's Art + Tech summit, we have had some very interesting talks with the like-minded innovators I met there. I can't give too much away just yet, but the benefit of collaboration and cross-pollination is a thing; it can be far-reaching, particularly within the climate + tech space where we need rapid progress to meet the rapidly changing climate conditions. And whilst I may not be at New York Climate Week this week, I expect we'll hear a lot about the progress and intentions tabled at the events. Learning from each other and making space for seemingly weird connections can be the key to turbo-charging innovation. Let's all remember this. Our development director reminded me of something. Many years ago when we were knee-deep in prototype testing it was critical insights from aerospace engineers and satellite scientists that enabled us to solve packaging problems, and ultimately deliver ROKBOX. So cross-pollination? I was wrong, it is a thing. Like hindsight. #innovation #startup #circulareconomy #newyorkclimateweek #climateweek
