Growth and development is not a spectator's sport... Go take action. Here's a growth challenge for you that you can do this week. You can take this challenge on yourself. And/or, you can pass this challenge on to your team. Here you go: 1) Write down each of the 8 traits listed below on small pieces of paper and place them into a cup. Have each team member pick a trait at random. 2) Whatever trait is selected, that person has to intentionally display that trait throughout the entire workday. 3) At the end of the day, regroup with the team and have each person share their experience. Rinse and repeat tomorrow. If you're doing this challenge solo, journal on your experiences. Added fun: For a team that works closely together, don't share what word is selected and see if the team can guess each other's word only through their behaviors. It's amazing to see how each of the traits will immediately add to the successes of the day for the entire team.

A year ago, a client came to me about the constant fires in their team. They weren't working collaboratively. They weren't aligned with their goals. They weren't encouraging each other to succeed. After a thorough evaluation, it became clear that the root cause was a lack of cohesive company culture. We worked together for two months to redefine their core values and reshape their interactions. Fast forward six months post-transition, and they hadn't encountered a single fire. Why? Because they'd learned to tackle challenges collectively, supporting each other every step of the way. Building a strong team culture isn't just about individual excellence—it's about fostering teamwork and resilience. Here's to fireproofing your team for success. 🔥 How do you deal with fires in your company? I'd love to hear. ⬇️ #TeamCulture #Resilience #SuccessStory #LeadershipDevelopment

"If you want to lead a team of engaged, productive, and inspired people — people who do great work and stick around — then you need to show them that they’re valued. When we feel valued, whether it be in a relationship with a partner, friend, or parent, we feel connected, confident, and cared about. As a manager, new or seasoned, what steps can you take to recognize and honor this need? ☀️ Get to really know your people and dig deeper into your relationship with each member. When you take the time to know the people you lead, you can personalize your management approach and, in doing so, show your team members that you value them — both as a group and as individuals. ☀️ Make developmental conversations a habit. Asking people about their goals, motivations, and what excites them is not something that you do just once. By having these conversations on a regular cadence, you show them that you are invested in their growth. ☀️ Tell, but also show. Showing your reports that you value them by backing your words with action and advocating for them is critical. This means when you say you are going to do something — whether it’s advocating for an employee in public or behind closed doors— you do it. ☀️ Give generously. When people receive recognition only a few times a year from a manager, they are five times more likely to be disengaged. Recognize your employees — publicly and privately — and do it often. In your one-on-one meetings, make it a habit to acknowledge at least one thing your direct report should be proud of that month (or week)." https://lnkd.in/dc9KTsGC

While past performance may certainly help predict the future, it does not always define it. Many things simply take more time than others to accomplish. Here's your friendly reminder that you've still got time to achieve that which you've always wanted. Gary Travis #garytravis #careers #culture #productivity #bestadvice
