Finally got around to reading the 2023 TIPs Report. I wanted to share this because the "victims identified" number never ceases to amaze me. We've successfully found 115,324 more human beings who are victims of trafficking. I say "more" because these are new victims identified in 2022, a significant portion of previously identified victims refuse or are otherwise unable to leave their trafficking situation (and just because someone refuses to leave doesn't mean they're not a victim, they could be a caregiver for an innocent baby, their family could be placed in significant danger etc.) The thing that always floors me is that this is just the tip of the iceberg, there are so many victims out there we don't have any insight into, some of these cases. Sadly some of these cases are state sponsored, like in the adoption cases a few years back that made headlines. The best thing to do is keep the conversation going. By spreading awareness we create a conversation that cannot be ignored. Your voice is a powerful thing use it for good and let's end slavery. There are some really compelling stories in the TIPs report, read it for yourself at: https://lnkd.in/gaHP2Kef #humantrafficking #slavery #endhumantrafficking #endslavery

Thanks for sharing. An astonishing & sad story, but every bit of education helps.
