🇺🇸 Reflections on the 4th of July 🇺🇸 Tomorrow is Independence Day, a day that once filled me with unshakable pride for the “land of the free and home of the brave.” Growing up, I believed our country was the greatest, viewing it through rose-colored glasses and celebrating with joy every 4th of July. But as I’ve aged, I’ve become acutely aware of the darker sides of our history—the injustices and challenges that shaped us. Now at 41, I struggle with mixed emotions when I hear the national anthem, see our flag, or watch fireworks. It’s hard not to feel disheartened by the realization that our nation isn’t quite the ideal I once believed. We’re facing critical issues today: increasing laws that restrict rights and a shift away from the ideals of freedom and equality. What happened to the “melting pot” of diversity and opportunity? It feels like freedom is becoming more selective, and it’s concerning. I know this isn’t my usual upbeat post, but these thoughts weigh on me. It’s crucial that we recognize these problems and work together to rebuild the true spirit of our nation before it’s too late. Let’s hope we can steer this ship back on course and truly embody the principles we hold dear. #FourthOfJuly #IndependenceDay #Reflection #Equality #Freedom #HopeForChange

It's #July4th here in America. Here's a snippet of what I shared with my #IG community in reflection ⤵ "Today, as we celebrate Independece Day, we hold several truths together. We celebrate the freedoms we have - freedom of speech, freedom to dress how we’d like, freedom to love who we want to love. While we celebrate independence, we hold it to be true that there has never been a more important time to keep fighting for it. Today, it is under threat, right here at home. So, enjoy your freedoms, today and every day. Have a sublime day off. And then fight like hell for the freedom of this generation. And the next. And the next. It’s what we owe to each other. Because we are not just independent - we are INTERDEPENDENT. We need one another. 🤝 💓 From all of us here at Camille Prairie Creative Co., we love you. Keep fighting. Keep resting. Keep resisting." Happy Independence Day, friends. Resources for a more equitable future: https://lnkd.in/eg_jgbv2 #july4th #equity #future #reflection

🇮🇳 As we honour the birth of our nation, let's also reflect on the essence of true freedom. Real freedom is when every woman can walk without fear, where every child feels safe, and where humankind is free from cruelty. As we celebrate Independence Day, let’s think when every mother and father can raise their daughters and sons in a world of respect and safety. Imagine a society where respect and safety are not privileges but fundamental rights. A society where every morning, women and children breathe the air of freedom, unburdened by fear. This is the independence we should strive for—one where humanity thrives in kindness and respect. This Independence Day, let's pledge to create a world where we truly act like humans. Let's ensure our freedom is one we can all be proud of. #IndependenceDay #RealFreedom #RespectWomen #SafetyForAll #BeHuman

As we celebrate our 78th Independence Day 🇮🇳, it's crucial to reflect on what true freedom means. While we take pride in our journey towards democracy, we must also confront a sobering reality: the ongoing threat of rape and violence against women. Despite progress, too many women still face fear and violence daily. Each case is a stark reminder that our independence is incomplete if we do not ensure safety and dignity for all. 🛡️🚺 This Independence Day, let’s honor the spirit of freedom by committing to real change. True independence is achieved when every person can live without fear and with full dignity. ✊ Let's work together to make this vision a reality. Together, we can ensure that freedom is a lived experience for everyone. 🌟Jai Hind #IndependenceDay #WomenSafety #EndViolence #TrueFreedom
