✨ Monk mentoring a Monk = #Monktorship ✨ 😛 Hello friends! This is my weekly reflection of being a mentor for the first time after 4 years at Monks: the learnings, and some cool content we created together throughout the week. After a dreamy summer month of July, a fresh new chapter has started for both me and my brilliant mentee Dylan Sophy. As Hyper Island alumni, we started the first day with a POD- Point Of Departure. It's a tool that allows you and your team to map out the goals, visions, and how you will get there together. Then, we were ready for some action! We filmed our first content on the rooftop, crafted a script, and played some pingpong of course 🏓 These moments brought me back to the time when 4 years ago in 2020, I and my creative partner Ljuba Grishkina were interns and took each day as a gift for learning something new and experimenting with endless energy. Being a mentor requires quite a bit of preparation and investment of time and energy to be fair if you want your mentee to feel safe and cared about. However, now that we spent the first week together with Dylan, I feel like I'm learning perhaps as much as Dylan is learning by his attitude, energy and open-mindedness. I'm learning to create safe space, give feedback in a way that communicates my genuine intention, and most importantly building that trust to be an ultimate team. I'm curious to hear YOUR thoughts too on mentorhip. How do you approach this growth journey as a mentor? What's one thing you'd wish during your internship as a mentee? 🎤 Can't wait to hear your insights, experiences and two cents for me to become a better mentor 🥸 Ok friends, see you on the next one.

The Impact of Mentorship on our Life As I reflect on my journey, I can't help but acknowledge the profound impact that mentorship has had on shaping my path. Having a mentor by my side has not only enriched my experiences but also accelerated my personal and professional growth in ways I never imagined. With a mentor, life feels like a roadmap illuminated with guidance and wisdom. Their insights provide clarity amidst uncertainty, helping me navigate challenges with confidence and resilience. Whether it's advice on career choices, skill development, or life decisions, their perspective acts as a compass, pointing me towards the right direction. Moreover, having a mentor fosters a sense of accountability and motivation. Knowing that someone believes in my potential pushes me to strive for excellence and exceed my own expectations. Their encouragement fuels my ambition, inspiring me to set ambitious goals and work tirelessly towards achieving them. Beyond the practical benefits, mentorship cultivates a deep sense of connection and belonging. Through meaningful conversations and shared experiences, I have forged bonds that transcend professional boundaries. My mentor's unwavering support and genuine interest in my well-being have created a safe space where I can openly express my thoughts, fears, and aspirations without judgment. However, I also recognize the value of self-discovery and resilience in the absence of a mentor. During times when I had to rely solely on my instincts and resources, I discovered strengths within myself that I never knew existed. The journey of self-guided growth taught me the importance of perseverance and self-reliance, instilling in me a sense of empowerment that continues to drive me forward. In conclusion, whether with or without a mentor, my life is enriched by the lessons learned and the growth experienced along the way. While mentorship offers invaluable guidance and support, self-discovery and resilience are equally essential in navigating the complexities of life. Ultimately, it is the combination of these factors that has shaped me into the person I am today—a constant work in progress, striving for excellence and embracing every twist and turn along the journey. #learnflu #virtualinternship #training #guid #goal #advice #projects #assesments #success #motivation #dedication

Level up your coaching game! 💪 Let's break down a proven coaching development model to take your affiliate to the next level. First, start your coaches off small - have them lead a section or two of the class. Once they get comfortable with briefing and cueing those sections, expand their role gradually. Keep giving your coaches new sections and opportunities under your guidance and "wing". This internship-style approach builds competence and confidence. Before you know it, your coaches will be ready to lead full classes with you there as a guiding co-coach. Flip-flop roles often so they get plenty of lead practice. Unlock Your Potential with Mentorship 😎 Ever wondered what makes mentorship truly transformative? It's more than just guidance; it's about tapping into a world of possibilities. A mentor provides not only access to their network, opening doors with companies you've dreamed of, but also invaluable advice drawn from their own experiences. They share insights on what to embrace and what to avoid, steering you clear of pitfalls. Yet, it's not just about professional advice; a mentor offers guidance on all fronts, caring deeply about your success. They're there to lend an ear, offering support and challenge when needed, pushing you to grow both personally and professionally. Embrace mentorship, and watch yourself flourish! 🌱💼 Speaking from personal experience, I've been incredibly fortunate to have Brand L. Elverston as my mentor. Over the last two months, his guidance has transformed my professional network significantly. From minimal impressions and views, I've soared to over 8k impressions, 400 views, and expanded my connections by 103 new ones. Brand not only encouraged me to post consistently on LinkedIn but also provided invaluable insights on navigating the differences between private and public sector jobs. His support didn't stop there; Brand helped me secure an interview with one of the world's leading companies, and thanks to his mentorship, I not only aced the interview but landed the summer internship of my dreams. This journey underscores the immense impact mentorship can have on one's career trajectory. Grateful for Brand's guidance, I'm excited to continue growing with his support. 🚀🔗 #MentorshipMatters #UnlockYourPotential #CareerGrowth #mentorship #ProfessionalTransformation #DreamsIntoReality #support #leadershipdevelopment #payitforward #beamazing #giveback #futuregenerations

First {work} day of the week! Which calls for a special #mentormonday moment. I’m {personally} a huge fan of mentors & think they change the game of professional development. One of the biggest components to a positive mentor/mentee relationship is trust. Two ways to make sure that you have a positive, trustworthy relationship with your mentor/mentee is having a two-way street of open communication & accountability. Have a great week & continue to make positive connections! #mentorship #workrelationships #monday #trades
