We know the work we do matters - saves lives, makes lives brighter. We also know that demand for our services is increasing and that funding is harder to come by. We know times are tight, for us all. Like many women-led services many of the team within RISE are here because they've been on the other side of the table, the other end of the phone. We know our work because we've lived it. We are you. You are us. Monthly donations are critical to our work. No donation is too small. 10 people donating £1 a month raises £120 a year - that's three counselling sessions for a child who has experienced abuse. No donation is too small - literally every penny counts. Of course, we wouldn't say no to larger donations but this January, as you look ahead to your year, we ask you to think about supporting us with even a tiny donation every month. Friends in or near Brighton and Hove - if you have any spare pennies each month (I know, not many of us do) would you consider becoming a regular supporter of the wonderful RISE UK ? I am glad and grateful every day to work with so many brilliant organisations in the women's sector, even if I believe that this sector should not have to exist. Women should not need to mop up after male violence against women and children, but we do. The women working in this sector are *incredible* - many are survivors and they combine professionalism, assertiveness, boundaries and compassion in a way I've not experienced anywhere else. They work with and for survivors day in day out, not just on the awareness days but every day. Helplines run 24/7/365. Because violence and abuse happens 24/7/365. Sadly, demand is growing and funding is harder to come by. One in three women will experience assault, abuse or violence in life - one in three. Think of your street, your business, your weekly shop. All those women. One In Three You might not think that your £2 a month can help. I promise you it will. I know that the women in this sector make every pound do the work of two. So your £2 will stretch, especially if you Gift Aid it. If you can help - thank you. Please help us help others for another 28 years.    We've got a simple problem: nearly 100 percent of our donations come from our own member base and alumni. We are a confidential organization, and most members don't feel comfortable reaching out to ask others for donations - it draws too many questions and requires too much explanation regarding our children's behavior.   If you were to find it in your heart to donate to Changes - in any amount - it would radically reset our math and enable us to offer support to more families. Any amount donated between now and end of day on Giving Tuesday will be matched up to $2.5k via a matching fund created by an angel member donor and the Changes Board of Directors.  Early December will mark our 28th year as a non-profit. It seems like this summer is filled with a lot of exciting projects and developments, from new construction builds and software rollouts to expanding core operations to serve a growing market. It's great to see this growth and optimism, especially after the uncertainty that has affected our businesses and lives in recent years. However, it's not just businesses that are seeing increased activity. Not-for-profit organizations are also facing more challenges with the same budget constraints and higher operating costs while still fulfilling the needs of those theybstrive to support. Organizations like the Cool Aid Society of Grande Prairie have dedicated teams working tirelessly to support their causes. For instance, the Cool Aid Youth Program underwent a significant facelift this year, thanks to the efforts of Barbara Feltham-Brentnall and her team. The infrastructure upgrade and the time invested by the staff and volunteers have resulted in engaging, fun, and educational summer camps for the kids. These programs not only enhance the lives of the children but also fulfill a crucial need in our community. With everyone being busy this summer, I urge you to consider supporting societal initiatives that help keep your community strong. Not-for-profits are facing rising costs, but support can come in many forms, such as sharing skills, providing art programs, donating day-to-day supplies, or offering career guidance. Even leftover supplies from construction projects can make a difference in these communities. Don't forget to lend a hand to organizations like these this summer. A little help can go a long way within your community, often in ways that have a lasting impact you wouldn't initially realise.
