The crises of the previous three years have shown us how dependent Europe is when it comes to raw material procurement. A large proportion of various industrial #metals, special metals and strategic metals are imported – #tin is no exception. With an annual net consumption of over 20,000 t of refined tin, Germany is one of the world’s largest tin consumers. To counteract this, the development of a sustainable and high-quality fine tin was pushed forward, which is obtained entirely from recycled materials and achieves purity levels of 99.99 % through upcycling processes. This means that an environmentally friendly tin raw material supply made in Germany can now be guaranteed. Worth reading! China's Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) has announced a draft plan to include the cement, steel and aluminum sectors in its national carbon emissions trading market within this year, according to an official document seen by Mysteel Global. The draft, unveiled on Monday, will be open for public feedback until September 19. Specifically, firms involved in the three newly-added sectors – whose annual emissions of greenhouse gases equates to 26,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide or more – will be classified as needing special monitoring. Enterprises are required to trade in the national carbon trading market rather than regional or city carbon markets such as those in Shanghai and Shenzhen, and their names will be publicly listed to ensure their activities are transparent.
