Recycle and landfill. Since 2010 landfill has fallen in the UK. Landfill can cause toxins, leachate and greenhouse gases. Gases are detrimental to our health. Recycling saves18 million tones of co2 per year. We can all make a difference to our planet. positives for recycling: *prevent and reduce waist *reuse items as much as possible *recycle so items get a second life here at O.M.C we strive to be tier 1 in recycling by definition this means the equipment we get is not broken down and repurposed. LETS ALL COME TOGETHER AND HELP SAVE THE PLANET O.M.C team

Landfills = reminders to act 📣 There is no "away" in "throw away"👇🏽 We are trashing the planet! One product at a time. Any product that is not designed or made "circular", contributes to this madness... The global waste 101: ➡️ We generate globally about 2 billion tons of municipal solid waste per year. ➡️ Nearly one half ends in landfill. ➡️ Another half is burned. ➡️ A lot of the waste in countries with no waste management system is burned "openly": that risks the health of millions of people. ➡️ Only 7% of materials find their way back into the system. The current system is a choice. It was designed. We now know its dark sides. There is a way out: Circular and regenerative systems. 🟢 For our cities. 🟢 In our businesses & organisations. 🟢 Our households. We don't need to trash this planet, that we call "home". Have you ever been on a landfill?

Very pleased to say that we are actively reusing & redistributing, obviously more energy efficient than recycling, shredding or furnace. We are saving tonnes of landfill, helping companies towards more favourable net zero figures, and greatly benefiting the low income, struggling local community and those wishing to live in a more sustainable way It’s been a good week 🏡🌎♻️✅ #CircularEconomy #NoFloorNoMore #Sustainability

🌍♻️ Today, on Global Recycling Day, we stand in solidarity with the movement towards a sustainable future. At K2 Systems, we recognize the urgent need to preserve our planet's resources. In addition to solar, we believe that recycling is the key to unlocking a brighter, greener tomorrow. Here's why: 🌱 Recycling combats climate change by saving over 700 million tonnes in CO2 emissions annually. 👩🔧 It boosts local employment, with approximately 1.6 million people worldwide employed in processing recyclables. 🔄 Recycled materials supply 40% of the world's raw material needs, conserving our precious primary resources. Let's join hands to make recycling a priority, not just today, but every day. Together, we can make a difference! #GlobalRecyclingDay #SustainableLiving #RecycleTodayForTomorrow #K2Kares

🔒At Preserve Earth, one of our priorities is to provide secure and sustainable destruction solutions for companies and organisations. ♻️We do this through the recycling, remanufacturing or repurposing of our clients' documents, textiles and WEEE items. Whilst we are constantly innovating, there are some situations/items for where these processes aren't possible yet. 🌟Whilst energy recovery is our last resort, it's still much more beneficial than it might seem. Recent updates to government conversion factors show that energy recovery is substantially more eco-friendly than sending items to landfill. Here's a few reasons why: 🚛 Reduces Landfill Use ⚡ Produces Valuable Energy 🛢️Decrease Reliance on Fossil Fuels 📉 Reduces Carbon Emissions 🧪 Avoids Toxic Contamination 🏞️ Protects Natural Habitats We achieve this in partnership with Avena Group. ➡️Complete landfill avoidance for your documents, textiles & WEEE. Long touted as a sustainability technofix - energy from waste is not looking so great now, even with the anti-carcinogen scrubbers. Societally and aromatically they stink (a special bouquet of 365 day a year sweaty cabbage from memory while working in the middle of Dudley). I had not realised the carbon impact was so bad though. Landfill is not the answer. Recycling....... better especially for non-plastics - but, still have memories of those news stories of us shipping it abroad via sneaky companies to "process". So how do we meaningfully reduce? I wonder if we ever will get some form of Environmental Impact Tax at point of sale. Plastic carrier bags show consumer nudges can work and we are getting better at putting costs on the impacts. If those taxes could just be funnelled into paying for the solutions......

Today is Global Recycling Day! In 2023, zero waste generated by 15Hatfields went to landfill. Yep, you read that right. ZERO. And not for the first time! We have a robust waste prevention strategy and recycle what we can throughout the venue. Any remaining waste is sent via Pulse Environmental to an energy recovery facility or, in the case of food waste, an anaerobic digestion facility to be converted into renewable energy. Last year we: - Saved 4.1 m3 of waste going to landfill - Saved 19.6 trees, that's in addition to the trees we planted via our catering scheme. - Saved 1.5 tonnes of carbon dioxide We're proud to lead the way in sustainable events management. As we wind down summer, you may be clearing out some items from your home. Make sure that you aren't wishful recycling! Remember that garden hoses do NOT belong in the recycling bin. Nope, not even the "plastic" ones. You can place that item in your trash and we'll create renewable energy from it. Or, click here to explore ways to reuse and upcycle: https://ow.ly/QZhS50SXZe5
