Missing Children’s Day Poster Contest Meet Lillian – a 5th-grade student in the Philomath School District. She is the Oregon winner of the National Missing Children’s Day Poster Contest sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice. The contest is meant to promote awareness about children’s safety issues among students, teachers, and parents/guardians. As the Oregon winner, Lillian’s poster has been submitted for consideration in the national competition (good luck!). Organizers said the poster stood out because of its originality and the description Lillian wrote to go along with her poster. She wrote: “The reason I created it is to bring hope to others that they can help bring the missing children home so the children can be reunited with their families safe and warm. In my picture the bridge the children are walking on is falling apart but a bunch of people come together and the children get home!” Lillian’s class will receive a pizza party courtesy of OSP’s Missing Children & Adults Clearinghouse.
