✨ My Journey at Sopra Steria ✨ It’s 18h45 and I am leaving the office after my official #OnboardingDay If you never heard about Sopra Steria do not fear: it was my case a few months back. About the company: The group recently acquired Tobania and Ordina and positions itself as a pioneering company that stands at the forefront of the #digitaltransformation landscape. Known for its unwavering commitment to excellence, it is: 🎊 top 3 on the Belgian market 🎊 top 5 on the European market Specializing in cutting-edge solutions for businesses and #publicsector entities (the European Commission representing 1/4 of the clients) the company leverages its deep industry knowledge and technological acumen to drive transformative change. Operating in various sectors, including finance, health, defense, Sopra Steria empowers its clients to navigate the complexities of the digital era with confidence. From developing innovative software solutions to providing strategic consultancy services, the IT industry is instrumental in reshaping how businesses operate, and individuals experience the world. Today not only I did learn about all horizontals and verticals (the famous matrix 😦), but I had a warm welcome from colleagues into a vibrant community of professionals. At the end of the onboarding, we were asked to pick a word to define the day and a value we cherish at the workplace: of course, mine was “warm welcome” and respect for others which I believe it is a fundamental in everyday life. I was also genuinely moved by the personal path life of some colleagues who trusted us enough to share their stories. Lesson learnt: you never know what people went through, so one additional reason to be thoughtful towards others and cultivate teamwork. I’m thrilled to share that I got the opportunity to meet Mr. Sunil Goyal, CEO of Sopra Steria India. A chance conversation, where I shared my unconventional journey from sociology to engineering, piqued his interest and led to a seperate, meaningful one-on-one discussion. Sunil sir's welcoming approach made our conversation feel like reconnecting with a trusted mentor. He not only appreciated my journey but also shared his own, which was a testament to his grit and commitment to ethics and values. He also provided me with four key principles to keep in mind as I advance professionally: 1. Competition transcends borders. It isn't limited to one's class, university, or country; it's on a global scale. One must adapt and excel. 2. Avoid 'jugaad' and quick fixes. While duct-tapey approaches may get the work done, they stifle true learning and growth. 3. One mustn't be casual or unserious. Embrace discipline and respect the sanctity of time. 4. One must pursue 100% perfection in whatever task they undertake. As I prepare to depart Sopra Steria in a month for a Master's program abroad, I reflect with deep appreciation on this interaction and am thankful to Sunil sir for his guidance. His invaluable lessons will accompany me as I embark on this new chapter.

But this recognition proves more than anything that Infosys is doing many things right, especially when it come their #employees. So, if you wanna work for an outstanding company in the IT business, you might wanna take a closer look on #Infosys. You will be surprised about the company!

I gave up! Back in September while I was in a happy breezy phase of my career and life I got to know that the project in which I was working remotely for Cognizant was ramping off. The HR team tried their best to deploy me to a few projects that were good but location-specific. I was not ready to shift on the same salary and decided to move out of the company. I started searching for a new job and gave a few interviews but nothing was getting fixed on the salary part. My friends, colleagues, and well-wishers suggested to me that the job market is not good and I should either go for an internal project in Cognizant or else settle for low. I started considering those suggestions and got scared of a jobless situation. I was feeling so low, and scared, stopped talking to people and going out. The worst thing I did was start doubting myself. The last day of my work was approaching which was making me more stressed. I hide the entire situation from my Mom. But she figured out that I was stressed and forced me to speak out. She took a deep breath laughed a bit and told me that she was assuming something way more serious from my behavior and body language. Then we had a conversation which changed my perspective. She appreciated me for all my hard work and how she was always hassle-free for me. She told me to have faith in myself, lose my fear and everything will work out. She also suggested to me that I have never taken a career break so go for a trip and enjoy the moment. I was surprised, happy, and all of a sudden entirely stress-free by her behavior. That day I GAVE UP my inner fear. Certainly, the last working day in Cognizant approached but I was fearless.  Within a week I got 2 big offers from EY & Capgemini in a super exciting role and I was extremely happy at the same time utterly confused. The chance to choose between EY and Capgemini feels like a rewarding culmination of this journey. Then I did research for a few days and ultimately chose Capgemini for the proximity. To all those facing career crossroads: Trust your instincts, embrace change, and recognize that the path ahead might not always be clear, but it's in our hands to shape it. Stop overthinking, do your best, and then breathe. This is a chapter of my journey that taught me resilience, patience, and the power of choices. It's been a transformative journey, navigating through uncertain times while seeking new opportunities. I get many DMs on LinkedIn asking for my insights and guidance as they are facing challenges in their career paths. So, I thought of sharing this story to motivate job seekers or professionals in their turmoil situations.
