Waiting until you’re thirsty is a bad way of hydrating When you’re thirsty you’re already dehydrated Being dehydrated puts you in a more sympathetic state and has been shown to increase HR and decrease HRV not to mention increase BG levels and BP Those with metabolic issues NEED to be more aware of their hydration habits You don’t have to chug fluid like a madman but being more cognizant and aware and drinking consistently will help Drinking more consistently > “dRiNk MoAr WaTeR” Goal: At least 1/2 your bodyweight in ounces per day plus more for additonal sweating (workouts/sauna/environmental conditions) I keep a 24oz Hydro Flask by me and finish it ~6 times per day Three to four before noon Twice after noon Another one during workouts Simple

This is good to know! Is there any other specific guidelines for knowing how much more to drink when you are sweating more due to exercise and other conditions? I've heard of some trainers using before and after body weight to determine this.

I am not water person. Is it okay to drink diet iced tea or better to put flavor drops in the water???
