I have been using this in beta for a while, when it first came out it was buggy and I switched back to web app. Hopefully it's better now. This the first step by openai to integrate with your operating system. Now you already can give access to your Google Drive and OneDrive, i am sure at one point they will ask for a permission to a particular folder which might contain some of your documents. This way they will be able answer questions related to your documents. Imagine you have receipts in a folder, you will be able to ask and get an answer for how much you spend for a particular item. (There are quite a few products doing this ready and openai once again will kill some of these products)

Download ChatGPT mac desktop app. Apart from the obvious advantages that chat GPT brings , desktop app allows faster access to ChatGPT. How? Option + space opens ChatGPT from any screen on your desktop 1 - Take screen shots 📺 2 - Upload files 🗂️ 3 - share images 🏙️ 4 - Search conversions 5 - Speak with ChatGPT 🗣️

Another wave of AI PC use cases is coming :). Rewind and Apple shared similar use cases last year. Gen AI will change how we interact with hardware, product and services! #genai #ai #llms #search

If you haven’t tried the ChatGPT macOS app, all users now have access! IMO, in the Mac ecosystem, the ChatGPT app is a stepping stone to less friction between Apple apps and LLMs like ChatGPT. You can access and use ChatGPT, including your custom GPTs, directly from a hot-key app instead of jumping into a browser screen - but more importantly you can utilize screenshots and other functions directly in the app with decent integration for a few functions so far! It’s not perfect but I do find myself using it more fluidly in my daily tasks. If you want to check it out, download link is in the comments. While the information you might have seen circulating isn't entirely inaccurate, there are a couple of updates: * **Gradual rollout:** OpenAI is still rolling out the ChatGPT desktop app for macOS. While previously limited to Plus and Team users, it's becoming available to everyone, but it might take some time for your account to be included. * **Search past conversations:** Unfortunately, searching past conversations within the desktop app isn't currently a confirmed feature. You can access past conversations through the web interface at https://lnkd.in/gVwNTHHy Here's what the desktop app offers currently: * **Option + Space shortcut:** This lets you quickly access ChatGPT from anywhere on your macOS desktop. * **Chat about anything on your screen:** You can discuss screenshots you capture within the app or anything else displayed on your screen. Hopefully, the search functionality for past conversations will be added in a future update!
