Now that I've hit the 6 month mark in my role as a recruiter in the quantitative trading space, I think now is a good time to pause and reflect on how it's been so far. I think one of the most enjoyable things for me has been educating myself about quantitative trading. I've always loved tech - but coming from a history degree with no trading knowledge, I quickly realised that in order to succeed in this industry I need to know my stuff! By putting in the time to research and learn things for myself, I started to understand why so many people are drawn to this industry. The space is always adapting and developing so there are always new things to learn - which makes my job more enjoyable (and stops me from getting bored!). Now, I'm not quite an expert yet - but I look forward to being a recruiter that can build meaningful relationships with professionals in the space. By understanding more deeply what our clients do and need, I am able to honestly guide individuals into the best roles for them.
