This is how a grateful farmer described JalTara. Simply put and so true. Make a pit in the ground measuring 4 x 4 feet and only 6 feet deep. Fill it with rocks and you've got a lasting structure that has the almost magical ability to absorb every drop of rainwater like a sponge - preserving it under the earth's skin as groundwater, to be brought up and used as and when needed. Much like a fixed deposit in the bank. JalTara may be lacking in flashy headlines; but it is an extremely effective, tried and tested method that has been used in collaboration with our farmers. So far, 45,500+ recharge structures have been built across India and wherever there is a JalTara there is a happy farmer who's not at the mercy of unpredictable monsoons or tied down to a single cropping season. Interested in building these amazing JalTara pits? Nurturing Hope in the heat 🌿 Planting a tree takes more than just soil and water. It requires dedication, patience and hope. Samina received two tree saplings Neem and Moringa by Tearfund and implementing partner LAMP Pakistan. Samina lives in Jamshoro, Sindh where temperature soars up to 40 C or more. It is difficult for tree saplings to survive unless proper care is taken. These trees represent more than just shade, they promise to cool down the area, improve the air quality and provide nutritional benefits from the Moringa leaves. Samina’s journey of care and commitment is a beautiful example of resilience. #ClimateAction #TreePlanting #SustainableFuture #CommunityResilience #Gogreenpakistan

**FACTOID** How fast does Himalayan Balsam grow? Himalayan Balsam is a flowering herbaceous annual, which means it completes its lifecycle of growing, flowering, producing and dispersing seed, all within one season. This means that once it has germinated, the initial growth can be quite dramatic. It can grow up to 10 cm per day, quickly colonising areas. A single plant can produce up to 800 seeds. #HimalayanBalsam #InvasiveWeeds #ExplosiveSeedProjection https://buff.ly/3vgNuou
