A huge thank you to Santander Consumer USA for their generous grant support! We are incredibly grateful for your partnership and commitment to our mission of driving economic mobility and expanding access to reliable transportation. Your support empowers us to continue making a meaningful impact in the lives of those we serve. Together, we're moving our community forward!
Thank you Capital One for sharing this program for car buyers and recognizing the importance of access to transportation. Without a vehicle, individuals are effectively cut off from the very resources intended to support them in their communities. This isolation hampers their ability to secure stable jobs, maintain consistent employment, and achieve upward
economic mobility. On the Road Lending creates the access to transportation which unlocks the opportunities to build a brighter future.

Car ownership is incredibly important—not only for the practical aspects of transportation, but for increased access to personal and professional opportunities. A car is one of the largest purchases someone will make in their life, making it both an exciting and significant milestone. At Capital One, we want to help people find the right car for them.
Our studies show most car buyers want to research vehicles online before going into the dealership. To help, we created the Auto Learning Center, which features a wealth of articles, videos and reviews to help car buyers get tips on finding the right vehicle for their unique needs. While there is a plethora of information available online, we aim to make the Auto Learning Center a one-stop shop of resources for car buyers.
Through our tools and resources, we strive to provide a simple, straightforward and transparent car buying experience for car buyers so they can focus on enjoying the moment.

What Happens If I Get Behind On My Payments?
Life can be unpredictable, and sometimes financial challenges can make it difficult to keep up with loan payments. If you find yourself falling behind, it's crucial to understand what might happen and how you can best handle the situation. Falling behind on payments can be stressful, but it’s essential to tackle the issue head-on. Communicating with your lender is the best way to navigate financial difficulties and find a workable solution. By staying proactive and informed, you can minimize negative impacts and work towards regaining financial stability.
Immediate Consequences
Initially, missing a payment can lead to late fees and an increase in your overall debt. Your credit score might also be negatively impacted, making it harder to secure future loans or credit. The longer you wait to address the issue, the more severe the consequences can become, potentially leading to repossession or legal action.
The Importance of Communication
The most important step you can take if you're struggling to make payments is to communicate with your lender. Lenders appreciate honesty and are often willing to work with you to find a solution. Here’s why communication is key:
-Avoiding Further Penalties: By contacting your lender early, you may avoid additional late fees and penalties.
-Exploring Options: Lenders may offer temporary payment plans, deferments, or modifications to help you manage your payments more effectively.
-Protecting Your Credit: Keeping your lender informed can help mitigate damage to your credit score. Proactive communication shows responsibility and can lead to more favorable terms.
Steps to Take:
-Review Your Finances: Assess your financial situation to understand how much you can realistically pay and where you might cut expenses.
-Contact Your Lender: Explain your situation honestly and ask about possible options for relief.
-Follow Up in Writing: Document your communication and any agreements made with your lender in writing to protect yourself and ensure clarity.
-Persist: Communicating with creditors is time-consuming. The payments you make are not always accurately accounted for and it can be hard to track these on your end if you have multiple from one creditor (i.e. medical). Do persist! Your credit and future access to credit are at stake.
