Rankings, in any other industry, are based on wins. The WARC rankings are the most all-encompassing rankings out there in our industry based on wins. Yes, they are based on award show wins, but they take into account the top tier shows across the world via a robust methodology. WARC releases 3 rankings every year. The Creative 100 that came out last week. The Effective 100 that comes out next week. And the Media 100 has come out this week. It's a joy to see our persistent and consistent focus on strategically and creatively-driven media work that delivers results across our brands and across our region, being awarded across 2023 and now, to see our own team Starcom Middle East come out as the #1 agency in the MENA region - and the only agency from MENA to feature on the list :). Every so often, it's good to spare your family and friends and go nerd out over ads with people who care about them. And last night, some of the biggest ad nerds and effie celebrities gathered at Work Behind The Work to unpack the genius of this year's most effective campaigns (including me!). Not only did I learn what the word 'spurious' meant, I also began to understand the marathon of taking an idea to an effie. My key takeouts were: - Case studies are good stories well told. It's important to set up how you're going to tell it even before it's written - have a hypothesis and ensure you have the metrics to test it and tell a good story at the end. - Sometimes the best ideas are staring you right in the face. A brand isn't just what agencies think they are, brands live and breathe through their customers so good ads should honour the role they play in consumer's lives - sometimes its about the emotion of the moment, beyond the product itself. - Ambitious goals breed ambitious work. Be clear on the headwinds and tailwinds going into the brief and use them to reframe and embrace challenges as opportunities - in this you can find the anti-ordinary solution.

Very happy to have played a very small part in this calling for this to happen, well played B Lab for doing the right thing 👏 I’m a massive advocate for B Corp and a massive advocate for the biggest organisations in (all) industries using the B Impact Assessment ‘tool’ to transform. Yet Havas totally took total liberties here. Having spoken to a number of clients (and employees) of Havas who are rightly shopping about right now - I certainly wouldn’t want to be in their reputational risk or people & culture teams at this moment 👀 And it doesn’t just stop with Havas, network agencies globally are totally under threat. Yes they have size, heritage and media buying power - 🛥️ and can afford a banging boat at Cannes 🛥️ - but if forward leaning clients don’t want to be associated to you because of your client list, and your best talent is jumping ship - surely the best strategic business direction is to take advise from an organisation like Clean Creatives and get your house in order. But what about the stability of employment for existing employees? I can’t imagine the outgoings of a network agencies IT costs, let alone their primo location global offices - but ‘not taking the brief’ doesn’t just protect the agencies reputation - built from hundreds of thousands of hours of brilliant strategic and creative minds collaborating to drive remarkable communications - it also protects the hundreds if not thousands of jobs that will be lost from ‘natural churn’ and clients hitting the eject button. Big news for B Corp, big news for agencies. #Agency #Greenwash #BCorp

In a recent interview with AdExchanger, George Manas, CEO of OMD Worldwide, and Bob Liodice, ANA CEO, discussed the ANA Programmatic Media Supply Chain Transparency Study.
