In the context of World Animal Day,
we naturally choose a fun fact about animals on ships
Sailors and cats have a special relationship that dates back thousands of years.
The ancient Egyptians likely were the first seafarers to realize the true value of having cats as shipmates. In addition to offering sailors much-needed companionship on long voyages, cats provided protection by ridding ships of vermin.
Sailors believed cats could start storms with the magic stored in their tails so they always kept them well fed and contented.
Sometimes, fishermen's wives would keep black cats at home too, in the hope that they would be able to use their influence to protect their husbands at sea.

In the world of dog training, this quote has never been more relevant. 🐕💭 Recent years have brought a transformative understanding that dogs are not just pets, but sentient beings with emotions and unique personalities.
Gone are the days of one-size-fits-all training methods. Today, we embrace positive reinforcement, understanding, and patience, recognizing that each dog learns differently. Let's celebrate this shift and continue to evolve in our approach to training our furry friends. 🎉🐶

Spring Road Safety Reminder! 🚗
As the season changes, so do the hazards on the road. Here are some key points to ensure a safe journey for you and your loved ones:
1️⃣ Watch out for potholes - they can damage your vehicle and cause accidents.
2️⃣ Combat sun glare by always having a pair of polarized sunglasses in your car so you can shield your eyes, and make sure your windshield is clean.
3️⃣ Be extra cautious with increased motorcycles and bicyclists on the road.
4️⃣ Drive carefully in neighborhoods as children may be playing outside.
5️⃣ Stay alert for wildlife, especially in rural areas, to avoid collisions.
6️⃣ Be mindful of slick roads during rainstorms.
Safety first on the road this spring!
Shocking news: A Queensland captain has been charged with slavery and torture of deckhands on his fishing boat—a stark wake-up call for the maritime industry.
Crew members risked their lives, escaping overboard into shark and crocodile-infested waters, underscoring the critical need for enhanced crew rights and safety.
At SeaLogs, we're committed to crew well-being as the cornerstone of success. Valued teams are more engaged—by 7%—experience 36% fewer safety incidents, and contribute to a 12% increase in profitability. Our software includes tools specifically designed to capture and bolster their success.

Minute-by-minute analysis of the sinking of the Bayesian.
So, there’s a documentary analysing the sinking of S/Y Bayesian to be broadcast this evening (3 October) on British television (ITV 21:00-22:00) and I suspect it will be shown in other countries as well.
As a professional in the industry, I don't see this as a positive. I believe people should wait for the Italian authorities and the British MAIB to conclude their professional investigations and publish their findings. Only then can appropriate informed action be taken, with the industry learning and then working to ensure a similar tragedy never happens again.
Programmes like this will just generate further unhelpful speculation. Not only will this add little or no value, but it will be unwelcome to those directly involved and likely have a negative emotional effect. After all, it should not be forgotten that the families who lost loved ones are in their early stages of grief. Survivors will be still coming to terms with their trauma, and additionally, the captain and some of the crew will be under significant pressure from ongoing formal investigations.
Some in the superyacht industry have chosen to contribute to this programme, and I’m sure they have justified it to themselves. From my stance, it’s disappointing.
