I met with a new client today, a young man and his father who hand build knifes together and sell them at events across the country. He asked me, “why do you take the time to personally meet every new potential client?” I was suprised when he told me how many events he’s never even met anyone beyond the check in/registration attendants. “Especially the promoter” he said. Whenever I onboard a new vendor for any of my events, I always insist we have a quick online consultation so I can show who we are and what we do. More importantly, I want to make sure we are delivering exactly what the client needs in order to be successful. Whether it’s booth location, which vendors to be placed next to or is there potential for your brand to sponsor something meaningful? I honestly want to know, it’s a learning experience for me. If you aren’t successful the first year, you likely won’t return… easily handled proactively in a 30 minute visit. It’s not cheap to attend events like MOORE Expo, the least I can do is make sure that it’s worth your time. Are events not worried about providing value anymore? Maybe some don’t care to spend the little bit of time it takes to carve out the perfect fit, but I guess that’s the difference between us 🤷♂️ #dobetterexpos #customerservice #midwesthospitality #mooreexpo #powersportsexpo
