We’re still buzzing from the insightful panel discussion of the theme “Trust in Fintech: Building a Foundation for Success in #Web3” held at Hong Kong Baptist University on Mar 4! A big thank you to our esteemed moderator Emil Chan, Co-Chair at Hong Kong Digital Finance Association, and our insightful panelists: Doris Keung, Senior Inspector at Hong Kong Police Force’s Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau; our very own Joe Zhou, #OKLink Director of Business Development; and Ray Rudowski, Founder & Managing Director at Epic Communications. The panel dove deep into the challenges and opportunities in balancing #transparency and anonymity in #blockchain technology. We also explored the role of Anti-Money Laundering (#AML) tools in investigations and the importance of trust in the face of scams. The discussion highlighted the need for effective communication and education to prevent scams, with initiatives like the Hong Kong government's “scammeter” app being mentioned as a proactive measure. We also touched on the challenges of #regulations, the impact of cross-border payments on crimes, and the current focus of regulations on the trading aspect of cryptocurrencies and #FinTech. We’re excited about the future of FinTech and the role we all play in shaping it. Here’s to a future where trust, transparency, and regulatory compliance are seamlessly integrated into the financial ecosystem. #RedefiningFinance
