Cal/OSHA’s heat illness prevention regulation moved quickly from approval to implementation in a shorter time period than normal and took effect earlier this week. The rule applies to indoor places of employment and requires employers to have a comprehensive written heat illness prevention plan that assesses heat illness risk, access to water and cool-down areas, cool-down rest breaks, emergency procedures, and more.
