We are banning mid-contract price rises linked to inflation for phone, broadband and pay-tv packages. From January 2025, UK phone, broadband and pay TV companies will no longer be able to link any mid-contract price rises to unpredictable and confusing changes to inflation. Good news! Next, could you please ban the awful and unfair practice by which mobile phone vendors continue to collect payments for the device and sim bundle, long after the device has been paid for. I’m pleased to see that EE has recently changed their contracts to a Sim plus fixed term device ‘hire purchase’ agreement.

Should they still be offering the option to leave penalty free if they hike it mid way?

It will not be a competitive market if you allow Vodafone merge with 3 Mobile and reduce the competition significantly.
