🌟 Ray of Light at Odqa 🌟 🤔 What is it like to intern with Odqa's Technology team for your summer? 🎥 Featuring Isabelle's Journey during her 6-week summer internship with our Technology Team 🚀 🔍 My Role at Odqa: "I study Materials at Imperial College London / Imperial Materials. My role at Odqa is to help George make sure the solar receiver doesn't melt itself! When the power of the sun is focused onto the receiver by the mirrors, the receiver can reach temperatures above 1000C - it's really important that the receiver is able to transfer as much heat as possible to the system without being damaged." 📚 Expect the Unexpected: “The most unexpected and interesting thing I've learned here is that there isn't a clear right answer to a lot of situations! It's really up to you to justify your decisions and to problem solve effectively - I find that very liberating considering the way STEM is generically taught." 🌞 Other Ray of Light: "If I could swap roles with anyone in the team, I’d choose Kenny Pokwang. He works on so many cool projects at once and really gets to determine the fundamentals of our designs!" #Odqa #Technology #SolarThermal #STEM #Innovation #RenewableEnergy #WorkExperience #CareerGrowth #TeamSpotlight

Summer Break! Onset of new opportunities with Project Qaabil Summer breaks offer students a valuable opportunity to step away from the regular academic grind and focus on skill development and personal growth. Rather than simply relaxing, this time can be leveraged to gain new capabilities, explore interests, and position oneself for future success. Assess Your Interests and Goals Start by reflecting on your academic and professional aspirations. What skills do you want to develop further? Consider both hard skills (technical, job-specific abilities) and soft skills (communication, critical thinking, etc.). Identifying your areas of interest and growth will help you create a focused plan for the summer. * Team Qaabil is certainly determined to bring up and help changemakers to gain and learn more about the Changemaking process. * And plan a social impact project with the help of their mentors! * And also we look forward to designing the implementation process with all our advisory board associates. * Along with that, we are looking at providing summer internship for college going students with ZWC. Thus, Maximize your summer break and invest in your personal growth - the dividends will pay off for years to come. ( And If you are someone who wants to learn and collaborate with us, feel free to reah out at [email protected]) Regards Inayat kapoor Founder Project Qaabil

How to find the best QAs for the company with zero budget A startup decided to scale and make the impact wider by going from the European to the US market. But they suffered from the lack of resources, and they even missed some releases because of that. In a pair of months, they planned new features and faced a problem, where to get resources with a minimal budget, especially QA resources. They came to us for good newcomer QAs, who can start working on their project as interns, but have enough skills to test it with a high-quality. We proposed them our QAs, who passed the 3-stage entrance exams (4-5 people per place) and completed the individual education in groups of 15 students with a mentor with 10+ years of IT experience. To be sure that our QAs are the best, the company tested our guys and several other guys, from their side. 2 best interns from Mentorpiece were hired as permanent employees, and the internship in the company was proposed to the others. For this process, a company spent no money.

Accelerating productive teamwork with Tetheros. Productivity wonk & technical founder. Aspiring polymath.
Building a great internship program is hard. Many programs treat interns like low level employees instead of budding professionals. The 4-month program at Tetheros has two objectives: 1. Expanding their professional footprint through exposure to business operations, specialty skill development, and basic administrative practices. 2. Improving their understanding of professional opportunities and entrepreneurship beyond traditional schooling. At first, the daily structure is fairly rigid and predictable, but the program is designed to match their ambition. Enthusiastic, growth-minded interns are exposed to interesting challenges and rising responsibilities. They control most of their fate. Matching talent and passion is a high form of alignment and a show of trust. Interns challenge us as much as we challenge them. All led with attitude, aptitude, and gratitude.

🌟 I am excited to share some recent experiences and learnings from my internship, where I have been involved in the intricate world of QA and testing. It has been a journey of continuous growth, challenges, and collaboration, offering me invaluable insights.🌟 🔍A significant part of my role has involved creating detailed test cases for new and existing features, a critical step in the QA process. This task requires a deep understanding of both the technical aspects of our products and the user scenarios they are designed for. Crafting these test cases has not only honed my analytical skills but also my ability to anticipate potential user interactions, ensuring that every aspect of the user experience is seamless and intuitive. 👥One of the most rewarding aspects of my internship has been working alongside a team of incredibly talented and enthusiastic individuals. Collaboration is key in our quest for excellence, and I am constantly inspired by the collective expertise and creativity of my teammates. Lessons from The Teen's internship, happening right over there on our sofa: She's interning for her dad's software company, but she doesn't report to him directly. He's CTO; she's on the QA team. Product release is immanent, and she's doing a final run-through to test updates. And everything broke. So she's beside her dad while he attempts to replicate the problem and diagnose what's going on. * Understand when to be independent and solve problems on your own, and when to bring problems to the boss (or in this case, The Boss). Time is tight and it can seem like resolving this on her own would be better so he could do other necessary things for the release. Yet, he can get the root problem far sooner, freeing BOTH of them to move forward. * Whenever possible, be in the same space (whether in person or virtual) with the person solving the problem so you can observe and learn, rather than having to catch up after the fact. * Venting in an appropriate space is genuinely useful! Instead of stewing in her bedroom, she came downstairs to vent in the comically overblown way that our family does. She's released the stress, and they're both focused on the immediate task. Not so long ago, another successful 2-month software testing internship in group 2023.4 came to an end. This time, the students were lucky enough to become part of a Canadian company "SellMeThisPen". There was 1 lead mentor and 7 interns. Altogether, the scope was 1120 person-hours. In the image, you can see a quote from one of the interns. The other interns also noted that it was really useful and interesting project, with excellent team communication, strong connection with stakeholders and there was an ability to work with AI language modules. Of course, there were also challenges which let the interns experience real work conditions and find the decisions. All in all, both interns and CEO of the company, Michael Ocean, remained very satisfied. #QA #QualityAssurance #SoftwareTesting

Manual Performance Testing ⏱️💻 What I learned during my internship is that performance testing is crucial in evaluating how a system performs under a particular workload. Unlike automated performance tests, manual performance testing allows for nuanced observations on how real users might experience the application under different conditions. What tips can you share for effectively conducting manual performance tests? #ManualQA #QualityAssurance #CareerJourney #SoftwareTesting
