India's Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) Project Last month, India’s Cabinet Committee on Security (#CCS) approved a project to design and develop a fifth-generation stealth fighter jet, the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (#AMCA). In my recent piece, I analyse how the development of the AMCA will further lead to the augmentation of India’s aerospace power. This article focuses on three key aspects: Firstly, it emphasises India's commitment to bolstering indigenous defence manufacturing. Secondly, it highlights how the #AMCA project places India among the elite group of nations capable of designing and developing advanced 5th generation aircraft, crucial for maintaining the balance of air power against adversaries like #China. Lastly, the article underscores the strengthening of the US-India defence partnership through the #AMCA's use of General Electric (GE) F414 engines, showcasing mutual trust and cooperation. The piece further provides insights into India's burgeoning aerospace ambitions and the strategic importance of the AMCA project in realising these aspirations.
