This summer, we are seeing a green wave in markets. The S&P 500 has returned 5% and has made 13 all-time highs since Memorial Day (for a year-to-date total return of 18% and 37 all-time highs). Inflation is no longer threatening. Yesterday’s CPI report showed that headline inflation was negative in June for the first time since May 2020 (meaning prices actually decreased). Even some of the stickiest items such as shelter costs finally slowed. Meanwhile, growth has cooled (but is not cold), and the labor market has normalized. A rate cut from the Federal Reserve now seems all but certain before year-end. In fact, markets are pricing in a greater than 90% probability of a cut at the September meeting. (Which is 68 days away, but who’s counting?) JP Morgan just announced record profits with Investment banking revenues smashing expectations. So when are companies going to truly open the taps on hiring? It's definitely coming, it's just a matter of when, we are urging our clients who have had a bit of a "Sit and wait" mentality to get ahead of the rush. In 6 months, it could be 10 times more competitive for business critical talent and much harder to hire.

My favorite self-development book of all time is easily - How to win friends and influence people by Dale Carnegie. I just bought a few copies for our office to share around as it's helped me so much in my own development, it's also a great one to re-read and refresh yourself on every few years. This book was written in the 1930s and has been continually updated for almost 100 years, There's a reason why it's still one of the best selling business/personal development books of all time. It's premise is: Dale Carnegie went out to study the most successful people of that time, JP Morgan, Charles Schwab, Theodore Roosevelt etc....the common misconception was that these people were smarter or just luckier than others. However, he discovered that the common denominator for all of their success was their ability to build relationships, friendships and influence others. He distilled these lessons into core principles and wrote a book about it. Highly recommend to anyone in any industry. What are your favorite self-development books?

$350,000 earnings in year 2......show me another industry (or company) where this is possible entering with zero experience and training for that role. William Johnson, MS has had an awesome journey with Phaidon International. He still holds the record in Dallas for our best second year in the business - showing what can be achieved in such a short period of time if you work hard, learn quickly and use the Phaidon Platform to it's fullest. Great work ethic, ambitious and always looking to improve or be better. Will is now in a leadership role growing his team in the fintech market as part of the Selby Jennings brand. He's going to achieve big things in the future. 🚀

Following on from my post yesterday, next up to highlight from Phaidon International Dallas is Chris Spoerl. His journey highlights what a career in recruitment can offer hard working, ambitious people who just want an opportunity. I love that Phaidon International gives opportunities to people from diverse backgrounds, with ZERO experience of what we do, and helps them succeed. He made a career switch from the fitness industry to join us and has gone from being a top rookie in his first year to now one of our top performing leaders - starting a completely new space within EPM Scientific in the life sciences world, growing his own successful team and continuing to deliver on his individual performance. Always showing unwavering dependability, very coachable and always aspiring for more. There is no ceiling for this guy over the years to come and I'm looking forward to seeing what he goes on to accomplish! 🚀
