Currently I Instruct activities that help high school students develop a general awareness of themselves, as well as the world of work and its connection to education.. Activities include: inquiry-based learning, career fairs/career days, classroom guest speakers, field trips for business and industry tours, etc.  Instruct activities that provide an opportunity for individual examination of career options that match a student’s interests and aptitude through Major Clarity. They provide an opportunity for students to learn about what people do for a living and to observe and interact with staff to learn more about the demands of the workplace. Activities may include: project-based learning, career guidance and career interviews, and job shadowing  Recruit career pathway high school students for Work Based Learning program in a public school setting. Integrate academic and occupational skills inside the classroom with skills learned on the job to prepare students for transitioning from school to a career. These tasks are done through apprenticeships, workplace and virtual simulations. Coordinates and manages the Work Based Learning academic course in partnership with government funded Southern Mississippi Planning and Development District. Educate students on career mapping, career exploration, and career planning based on Mississippi Department of Education’s curriculum. Manages day to day operations of student apprenticeships, to include document processing and handling, collaboration with industry and college partners, and report and track intervals upon request. Identify and prioritize key stakeholder relationships to ensure a smooth working collaboration. Articulate the importance of postsecondary education and training following high school graduation. Connecting students with industry partners and community and business stakeholders for a combination of on-the-job training and related classroom instruction under the supervision of a journey-level craftsperson or trade professional in which workers learn the practical and theoretical aspects of a highly skilled occupation in rural Mississippi. Provide transition activities that are designed to facilitate community-based instruction, employment experiences, and socialization skills for students with moderate to severe disabilities. Hosts employer-student-community networking events to introduce the Work Based Learning program, to witness student commitment ceremony, celebrate student success in the classroom and in the fields of experiential learning. 

Appealing with our HEAD and HEART I vividly recall the interview my colleague and I had for our company's application to the apprenticeship program with the Construction Industry Council (CIC). The two interviewers expressed deep concern about the safety measures and learning opportunities we provide for our apprentices. To address their concerns, we assured them that safety is our top priority, not just for our employees but also for our apprentices. We shared how we consistently offer ongoing safety training to ensure their well-being. However, we wanted to convey more than just our commitment to safety. We decided to share a heartfelt story of how our company supported two apprentices in participating in the WorldskillsCompetition. In addition to providing them with comprehensive training resources, we went the extra mile. Our entire team signed a card, encouraging them to give their best. Even our senior management visited them during the competition, despite their apprentice status. The impact of this support was evident when we spoke to the apprentices after the competition. They expressed how much they had learned throughout their preparation and, most importantly, how their confidence had soared. Witnessing the transformation of a once-shy individual into a confident young person was truly remarkable. The interviewers, moved by our company's dedication to nurturing apprentices, were visibly touched.   Before long, we received the news that we had successfully passed the interview, making our company eligible to join the program. As the saying goes, "Before we ask for a hand, we need to touch their heart." It serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of appealing to both logic and emotions. This transition wasn't just about changing locations but transforming lives. From attending our summer residential to securing 8 GCSEs with remarkable grades, their journey is a shining example of our mission. The Path Ahead: We aim to bolster the number of learners pursuing Level 2 and A-Level courses. Our goal remains clear: 0 NEET students, irrespective of attendance. Once you master your particular trade, the options for advancement are unlimited. Some will become supervisors, go into estimating, and others project management positions.
