School violence is preventable, if we know (AND IF WE REPORT) the red flags and the warning signs.

I'll be honest, I've watched this clip countless times, showed my wife, shared it some of my friends... I've cried... and I've paused and reflected.. it's one of the more powerful clips that you can watch. It's a fantastic demonstration that it’s not what you see on the surface. An incredible way to spread an important message. This video alone could encourage someone to ask the important questions and actually save a life. Kudos to Norwich City Football Club for promoting such an important message

Why Vote Yes Today?
Some of my friends were shocked that I was voting yes today. I asked some of them why they planned to vote no; I got many answers and some legitimate concerns. I would ask two or three follow-up questions, and we found out how informed they were; there were a few holes in some of the arguments. I was just like them, having all the platitudes and answers for voting no, but then I took a deeper dive.
I started my inquiry into this vote with a phone call to a friend who had a business where the new stadium was to go and had business around it. My friend Matt Abbott had been transforming the crossroads for 20 years. I had concerns for my friend; this would be a big disruption. Then, I met with a church pastor in the crossroads who would have to move. I followed up with business and property owners in the crossroads to get a better perspective.
Seeing their vision for what could be, I asked how I could help. I then filmed many people, and I will link those videos if you haven’t seen them.
What is interesting to me is that many yes voters love the vision of what this can be. They know there will be many challenges but believe now is the opportune time to start. All voters want a better plan and better communication and don’t always like change. We all know there will never be a perfect plan, but our desire for a better one is admirable. All plans are just that, and they do change.
Many believe strong opposition is a good thing; it helps us refine our arguments, make better plans, and, ultimately, find a better solution. I agree. We can all point out mistakes made with the new airport, the power and light district, the new street cars, the CPKC Stadium, and all downtown developments. Rest assured, none of those mistakes would have been made had we stuck with the status quo. Because we decided to leave the safety of the proverbial harbor to venture into the sea, we have had some positive changes and have built a better city.
We have a better city today, and we learn from each new project we undertake. We will have challenges, and we will learn from them. While I work more in the people-building and technology-building sectors, there are lots of similarities in taking steps to make things better. The yes vote is just the first step; there will be challenges, but there will always be challenges. I want us to take on the challenges and invest in this project.

So, my fellow yes voters, I ask you directly: What is your motivation for supporting this? And why do you think there is opposition to this measure?
