Today, I had a conversation on the train with a healthcare worker from Melbourne. She shared the immense stress and lack of control they feel working 12-hour days, constantly asked to do more for the healthcare system. This global crisis in healthcare demands action – it's not enough to accept the status quo. We must prioritize the well-being of those who care for others. It's time to address the growing wave of illness affecting our healthcare workers. This is a critical issue that we cannot ignore. It’s so bloody wrong that those that care for sick and being made ill it’s completely unacceptable to standby and do nothing. What do you want? A healthcare system that is cracking at the edges which it is and will eventually collapse due to not looking after its people or healthcare system enables people to be cared for at work anf when they leave Work #HealthcareCrisis #EmployeeWellbeing #HealthcareWorkers

Have you ever read a statistic that blows your absolute mind in the worst way!? I'm working my way through the Times Health Commissions report, and this one stopped me in my tracks👇 "The Institute for Government has calculated that 500,000 staff days are lost to mental ill health every month. Doctors are twice as likely, and nurses four times as likely, to take their own lives compared with workers in other professions." I am genuinely taken aback!😲 This goes to show the importance of the work undertaken by Acacium Group's Viewpoint programme and the power and potential it can have for our NHS clients. Understanding how healthcare workers feel isn't a nice to have, it's critical to the long-term health and sustainability of the healthcare service! The Frontline Health Workers Coalition (FHWC) Supports the Dedicated Line Item for Health Workers in Lower Income Countries An alliance of 40+ organizations dedicated to supporting health workers in lower- and middle-income countries, FHWC welcomed the inclusion of the new, dedicated line item for “Global Health Workforce” of $10 million for FY 24. FHWC, along with its partners, worked hard to secure this initial investment in frontline health workers around the world. Many thanks to our Congressional champions. Next year, it is imperative to increase this amount to at least $20 million for FY 25.
