Today, the UK government announced it will be adding fake reviews and drip pricing to the list of banned practices in the new Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Bill (#DMCC). The announcement on fake reviews will be relevant to those who HOST consumer reviews, as well as those who create, commission or incentivise them. The drip pricing announcement will be relevant to most sectors, particularly the #entertainment, #hospitality, #transport and #comms sectors, where drip pricing techniques are used around 54-72% of the time - costing UK consumers around £2.2 BILLION a year.
