Economic development is essential for the growth and prosperity of Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak region and for increasing the overall quality of life. Economic development strengthens our region bringing jobs, talent, and taxes to maintain our core systems over time, providing the critical services and ongoing maintenance necessary for our community to endure. Communities that cannot meet this threshold do not control their future. Such places require continuing assistance from the federal and state governments, with a rising level of debt and taxation, to maintain essential services. These places are fragile, and dependent on others for their survival. "Cornwall is fearless in its vision and bold in its approach." - John Brown, CEO of the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce Despite numerous attempts to craft a comprehensive vision that includes all sectors and communities, Cornwall has yet to capture the full potential of such an ambition. But I firmly believe our opportunities are growing. Climate change adaptation, rural innovation, and enhanced connectivity have naturally set the stage for something remarkable. Now is our chance to create a fearless, bold vision that everyone in Cornwall can support. It's about all of us—from Penzance to Bude—coming together to realise a common goal. It's about turning the tide together because, as the old saying goes, "A rising tide lifts all boats." Let's make this vision a reality. #CornwallVision #ChamberOfCommerce #FearlessCornwall #RuralDevelopment #ClimateAction #Connectivity #BoldFuture #RisingTideCornwall Cornwall Council Glenn Caplin-Grey Louis Gardner The Cornwall 500
Part of our commitment to our members is to constantly fight for Cornwall at every avenue. We’ve written to the Chancellor highlighting that Cornwall isn’t here as some Dickensian character looking for a handout, but as an investable economy ready to lead the shift towards an innovative, fairer, kinder and greener economy. ✌️John Brown
