Internal mobility: An organization’s ability to redeploy its internal talent quickly—where and when needed—can provide a competitive advantage. As firms build this capability, many are developing their internal talent marketplace (ITM) - food for thoughts 🤩
Internal Mobility— This Deloitte article has 45 questions to help plan and implement an internal talent marketplace (ITM). And remember...it's not just about the tech. (1) You can have great tech, but if all of the other critical non-tech factors are not addressed, the tech won't matter. (2) If you have the non-tech factors working effectively but not the tech, it is difficult to scale an ITM and realize its many benefits. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗧𝗠 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: (1) understand and articulate its current mobility practices, mindset, processes, systems, and vision for an ITM. (2) identify future-state requirements (e.g., ITM purpose, data, sponsorship, etc.) that inform ITM design and tech investment decisions. I am also including an article on Booz Allen’s initial year experience in launching an ITM, highlighting hurdles faced, tactics, and lessons learned. *Link to resources in comment Did you find value in this post? ❗ MANUFACTURING MAY NEED 3.8 MILLION NEW EMPLOYEES BY 2033 (Deloitte)❗ "... more than 1.9 million of these jobs could go unfilled because of the skills gap and lack of applicants." The article (in the comments) discusses a few ideas to help, focused around generating interest in manufacturing as a career choice - good! 👏 🔐 This also means we as employers need to STOP passing on candidates that are ALREADY interested in the field but lack the perceived 'experience' Skills (and the development of those skills) are more important than 'Experience' on paper alone. “Companies must prioritize technology, training and talent development, and the investments that are driving growth will also require the industry to build out a talent ecosystem,” #makinglivesbetter #skillshiring #manufacturingjobs
