The importance of the role that seafarers play in global trade and the global economy cannot be overstated: they are at the very heart of shipping worldwide. As such, we join our subsidiary Marine Benefits in highlighting the International Maritime Organization's Day of the Seafarer 2024 and its focus on safety at sea for these crucial workers. Marine Benefits own Re:fresh 2024 study highlighted the importance of safety onboard to crews for both their physical and mental wellbeing. We believe that increasing safety though the use of best practices - along with knowledge sharing and training to help prevent unwanted incidents from occurring - is vital, together with a solid support system to address the psychological strains that can arise for these workers who can spend long periods away from their loved ones. You can discover more about this year's Day of the Seafarer theme at the IMO's website at: https://lnkd.in/dcmj3BQD #SafetyTipsAtSea #marinebenefits #imo #expectmore

Happy day of the seafarer! Today, we celebrate seafarers around the world and highlight this year's theme by the International Maritime Organization: "Navigating the Future: Safety First."  Our recent Re:fresh 2024 global study revealed that 75% of seafarers are concious about safety onboard. It is, therefore, paramount to ensure both physical and psychological safety on ships. We encourage everyone to read the tips under #SafetyTipsAtSea to hear directly from seafarers on how to foster safety onboard. To all seafarers, happy day of the seafarer, and thank you for your hard work and dedication! #CrewWellbeing #WellbeingAtSea #MaritimeSafety
