Leading CX & Service Transformation with Strategic Design + Innovation 🌏 Community Services & Social Impact Expert ⭐ Ex-Accenture Song, Ex-Atlassian 🏆 Good Design Awards Juror & 3x Winner 🌻 Hidden Disabilities Ally
Generational change starts small, and it starts with us! Policy change is vital, but it's often the mundane, innocuous actions, mindsets and conversations in our own communities that move the needle over generations - one way or another. Educators do this vital work for my and your kids every single day, and speaking to them as part of my role, I know that openly supporting these steps, however small, matters! Support where you can, with encouragement, questions and suggestions. The more we openly acknowledge that we care about justice at a personal level, the more likely things will shift.
During 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸, children at Camp Australia engage in meaningful celebrations before and after school by creating collaborative artwork that reflects the theme of reconciliation. Across the country, our programs are incorporating activities that teach the importance of Australia's Indigenous cultures and histories. Through these artistic expressions, we aim to cultivate an informed, empathetic generation committed to reconciliation. #NowMoreThanEver #NRW2024 #oshc #education Warren Jacobson Igor Merkin Alissa Taylor Craig Stewart Leah Paff Virginia Wilson Tim Naylor Paula Mayson Dr. Lena Belin Carole Priol Nathan Platus Raksha Parsnani Luciana Panzarino Brittney Burgess Tabitha Sephton Iain Dennis Jonathan Tannoury Gwen Stocks Justine Hardware

HAPPY WORLD PEACE DAY! Only 2% of the Global Population are Peacebuilders: Let's Change This! As we celebrate World Peace Day (21 September), I'm reminded of a striking statistic from Fisher and Zamina's (2001) article: "Are Peacebuilders Wasting Our Time!" Only 2% of the global population are peacebuilders. This alarming fact is magnified by increasing global wars supported by the booming weapon manufacturing industry. But there's hope! Peace activism enhances: 1. Conflict prevention and resolution 2. Promoting social justice and equality 3. Fostering global understanding and cooperation 4. Empowering marginalized communities Let's take action! On this World Peace Day, commit to: - Joining the peacebuilding community - Promoting peacebuilding activism - Sharing your own peacebuilding story Together, we can create a more peaceful world! #WorldPeaceDay #Peacebuilding #PeaceActivism Peace is Golden

🕊️ Happy International Day of Peace! 🕊️ On this International Day of Peace, let’s work together to cultivate a culture of kindness, understanding, and conflict resolution in our schools. Peace begins with small actions that promote empathy and build a sense of community. Here are some activities to foster peace and encourage positive behavior in schools: 🤝 Teach Conflict Resolution Skills: Help students learn how to resolve conflicts through dialogue and understanding. Role-playing exercises can be a great way to practice these skills! 🌍 Promote Acts of Kindness: Encourage students to perform acts of kindness, whether it’s helping a classmate, writing a positive note, or volunteering in the community. 📚 Create Peace Projects: Engage students in peace-themed projects, such as creating peace murals, writing essays on what peace means to them, or organizing a school-wide peace assembly. 💬 Facilitate Open Discussions: Create a safe space for students to express their thoughts and feelings about peace, inclusivity, and mutual respect. Let’s inspire our students to be peacebuilders, today and every day! 🌟 #InternationalDayOfPeace #PeaceInSchools #ActsOfKindness #PsychedServices #learndo

My experience working with over 50 Iraqi Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) over the past two years has solidified my belief that they are uniquely positioned to serve their communities better than international organizations. One example is PEER organization, whose impactful work, including their recent report has shown the vital role CSOs play in understanding and analyzing the issues faced by communities and building a stronger, more resilient Iraq. #localisation #iom_iraq
We're proud to share our latest achievement! 🎉 Our new report from the 'Resilient Nineveh' program, Peer Organization for Youth Development in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM Iraq ),Wasl Civil Society Fund, sheds light on the challenges returnees in Nineveh face with educational integration, while also highlighting the progress made. Despite the difficulties, most children have rebuilt their friendships and interact well with their peers. However, additional support is still needed to further enhance their social and academic skills. Check out the full report and share your thoughts with us!

🌍 Promoting Peace Around the World 🌍 In today's interconnected world, the pursuit of peace is more important than ever. Peace is not just the absence of conflict, but the presence of understanding, compassion, and collaboration among people from all walks of life. Here are a few ways we can contribute to a more peaceful world: Promote Dialogue and Understanding: Encourage open and respectful conversations that bridge cultural and ideological divides. Understanding different perspectives fosters empathy and reduces conflict. Support Education: Education is a powerful tool for promoting peace. By supporting educational initiatives, we can empower individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to build peaceful societies. Advocate for Human Rights: Stand up for the rights and dignity of all individuals, regardless of their background. A commitment to human rights is a cornerstone of peaceful coexistence. Engage in Community Service: Volunteering and community service help build strong, resilient communities. When people come together to support one another, it creates a foundation for lasting peace. Practice Kindness and Compassion: Simple acts of kindness can have a profound impact. Showing compassion to others, even in small ways, contributes to a culture of peace and mutual respect. Let's all do our part to promote peace, understanding, and cooperation in our communities and around the world. Together, we can make a difference. #Peace #WorldPeace #HumanRights #EducationForPeace #CommunityService #KindnessMatters #Compassion #GlobalUnity #Empathy

Founder, Peace Shapers| Safe School Advocate tackling school violence through Peace Education and Advocacy| School Violence Prevention Strategist| Helping aspiring peace-builders find their path|#ThePeaceShaper
At Peace Shapers, we do something truly unique. Often, people don’t realize just how important it is to equip children with peacebuilding skills until we show them. This training isn't just a nice addition; it's essential for preparing them to face the future as socially responsible, compassionate citizens. The lack of funding in this area highlights the problem. It’s not that people don’t care, but because we’re not physically rebuilding schools, our work isn’t as visible. When you can't see the changes, it can seem less urgent or worthy of investment. But who doesn’t know that behavioral changes take time?🤷🏾♀️ This is exactly why we’re facing the challenges we are today. By neglecting to teach the values that shape kindness, responsibility, and empathy, we’re shaping a generation that’s focused more on external success than on becoming well-rounded, moral individuals. Investing in the internal development of children is just as important as any physical infrastructure, because it’s the foundation for a better, more peaceful society. No matter how slow the progress, we’ll keep moving forward! One day, we’ll look back and see the lives we've impacted, and that’s what will truly matter. #ThePeaceShaper
