THIS! This is why I was called to do what I do. Though the sub-context is RACE… the bigger picture is controlling your own narrative by telling YOUR story. I tell my clients and many Nonprofits to never rely on a hope and prayer and Mass Medie to tell your story. You must invest in your own media team who also believes in the movement and is in alignment with the mission as well as the culture. As some one who works on both sides of journalism, I know the game and that it never changes … just the players. I implore all you as an individuals , as a collective, as a company, as a organization, as a community… get infront of your narrative as you continue to feed your own autonomy.

I know LinkyDin (as one client calls it) isn't necessarily the place for personal updates but today I just have to go there. This incredible young man that Kelly Reed and I have loved, nurtured, supported and watched grow for 18 years has seen his dream come true today. He's off to Liverpool John Moores University to study sports journalism and we couldn't be prouder. All the hard work, the anxiety, the waiting for today has been worth it. Just goes to show that good things happen to good people and if you can dream it, you can do it.
