Today is the first day of #AUGIS24 in Manchester. We are particularly excited to share the significant findings from two key studies on preventing parastomal hernias (PSH) using DynaMesh® - FEG Textiltechnik IPST. Study 1: Chimney Trial from Scandinavia Study Design: A multi-centre, randomised controlled trial assessed the effectiveness of DynaMesh®-IPST (IPST) in preventing parastomal hernias (PSH). Outcome Comparison: The trial showed no significant differences in operating time, hospital stay, or complication rates between the IPST and control groups. Clinical Results: At the 12-month follow-up, the PSH rate in the control group was more than 35% higher than in the mesh group. Ethical Consideration: Due to this significant difference, the trial was prematurely terminated, as continuing without offering mesh to all patients was considered unethical. Mesh Details: The DynaMesh® IPST used was IP072415F1 15cm x 15cm x 4cm, placed in the intraperitoneal space. Conclusion: The trial concluded that mesh significantly reduces the risk of PSH and is a viable preventive option. Visit the team at stand 13 if you would like more information. #Dynamesh #IPST

Today, at #ADLM2024, researchers from the UC San Diego School of Medicine will present the latest evidence from a recent evaluation of Truvian’s multi-modal #BloodTesting platform. 🩸 Their independent study, titled “Advancing Point-of-Care Testing: Independent Evaluation of the Truvian Platform,” focused on comparing the performance of Truvian's blood testing device to FDA-cleared devices found in central laboratories. 🔬 Findings show the accuracy of Truvian’s device is highly comparable to centralized testing and demonstrates a high degree of reliability.
